Due to an unforeseen technical problem...namely my power supply cooking itself...I've had to replace my video card and remove my audio card to be able to use an old back up power supply until my new one arrives...as a result I have no voice coms and my system now has problems running STO and NW...so I'll be lurking about but unable to talk to anyone...probably until the end of the month or thereabouts when the new power supply arives and I can rebuild my system

Let me know, if you need any assistance. I can PM my phone number and we can talk. Sounds like lightning or a big surge. Did you have a joule rated Power Supply? Here's some info on surge protection:
http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/everyday-tech/surge-protector7.htm
I usually suggest a Joule rating of 1000 or higher for areas prone to lightning, like St. Louis is. I've found power strips for $15 or more with this high a rating and the nanosecond rating for suppression engagement.
Let me know if I can help.

Wasn't a surge JT...the fan on the power supply failed and after that it was only a matter of time LOL...appreciate the help but all I gots to do is get the replacement in, swap my video card back and reinstall the audio card and I'll be back up and running

It's good you figured out what it was. Fan failure is rare, unless it caused by a stopage, from dust or something. Surges are the normal culprit and are harder to determine what other parts would be affected. I'm still here, if help is needed.
