ok first i didn't know i got promoted, thank you it's an honor and a privilege
second if i want to request a unit patch who do i talk to? and do i need permission to use and alter someone elses art? and how do i add an image to these posts?

Promotions are always listed under the month Admin notes. So it's always a good thing to read them for that reason if you ain't reached Capt yet and to keep up to speed with things in the fleet.

Also I assume you mean a ship patch. In that case go to the forum section titled "Fleet Insignas" and there is a sticky thread under EVILDEAD'S section for requesting a ship patch.

For inserting an imagine into a post simply put the link in between [img] and [/img]. Also you can click the image 2nd to last on right just below the subject line of your post(the line of buttons that include if you want to make your post bold, underline, etc). You can upload images to the default gallery and such if you need a place to put it to generate a link.

Type or paste in the url of the image. For example:

http://avatars.guildlaunch.net/user_files/3108502/user_avatar64_mid.png

Then, highlight the entire URL and click the image button on the text editor toolbar. It's the second button from the right:
