As I dig through more information on Star Citizen, we may want to consider having a G7G "Security Forces" detachment. This group could be exclusively responsible for Corporate Search & Rescue for pilots floating in space, Coordinating Convoy Escort & Protection details for High risk transport missions, survey missions for new territory, protection detail for mining,  etc.

I know we decided to go with a more corporate structure but perhaps this could be a sub department, overseen by a board member.

 

Just food for thought.

Right now the G7G is basically just for those of us interested in the game to play under the same roof together.

If I am not mistaken we will have an escort detachment to make sure we can get our cargo to the right place and on time. Also we will be making some runs to unprotected UEE space where the rewards will be a lot better but come with higher risk thus the need for our escort services. Another thought  for the escort service was to run preops or scouting missions ahead of the convoy to make sure the travel lanes were safe. Stay tuned as we get closer to launch...

Speaking of EVE, I saw were they are doing EVE: Valkryie.  I liked the looks of the video for it, plus I bet it will be out a lot sooner then this.  I see SC not going full game till summer/fall 2015 at least even though it was scheduled fall 2014.  Before some of you axe murder me for that, just remember I was following the game way back when.  Dogfighter module was a Dec 2013 release schedule, just saying.

Don't forget that Elite: Dangerous is out there as well.  They seem to have their stuff together pretty well. They're also allowing for a variety of play options, including options where you only play with your friends rather than playing with random people.  They will also have player driven capital ships, where Valkyrie will be limited to fighters.  Here's a link for more info:

Thanks for the info.  I'm still super excited about Star Citizen, just it wears down on ya being excited about stuff near it's release only to have the man in charge hold it back for perfection.  Which is great for the game, but could also be a flaw when it comes to some of his promises like regularly released content.

Dear CIG, we are still waiting on those Freelancer and Connie variants.
