Novin, your suggestions are pretty spot on, but all of the issues are a symptom of a far greater problem that has plagued the game since it came out almost 12 years ago; the game is an unbalanced mess that Cryptic has been putting slap patches on the whole time. The economy has suffered the worst for it because of the sheer slog in end-game progression across the board and uncontrolled inflation. It is the primary reason I am in reserve status as I simply no longer have the patience to do dailies for weeks or months on end just to achieve one pixel of progress on the bars. Most of the Zen buyouts I see on the store now appear as a message from Cryptic saying, "We know the economy is a busted disaster...here, spend 20 bucks to not grind for three months." I am not confident that Cryptic will take your honest and true suggestions to heart because it financially benefits them to keep the system busted to sell Zen buyouts. I would MUCH rather see the game go back to the subscription model IF the devs would take REAL time to clean up the overall game; Scrapping and overhauling the economy in a mega-patch or re-release that removes the current problems and adds a better effort-versus-reward mechanic.
The game's combat suffers the same problems. Classes once mattered forever and a day ago. Now, everything is DPS meta because the only combat "balancing" Cryptic does is make the NPC enemies mega-tanks that cheat (Vaadwaur raiders using the old, unpatched Ramming Speed skill that was denied to cruiser skippers back in 2012 because PvP Escort players whined about ships several times their size and mass rightfully insta-popping them with it). Every class NEEDS to DPS because of this. Instead of Cruisers being tanks, Escorts being glass cannons and science ships being support/jack-of-all-stats, every build has to be an alpha strike build to get around the nonsense. That is something that this Fleet helped me accomplish when I joined back in 2015 and I am still grateful to the support I received despite the fact I have been a ghost for the past few years. I just find it hard to come back to the game for any length of time because of how quickly the sheer grind wears on my patience. I have more I want to say on this, but I do not want to hijack the thread. If everyone wants to hear it and says so, I am more than willing to continue. The gist is that the name needs a full-blown refit to clean up YEARS of sloppy mechanics and mindless grinding.
EDIT: Maybe if the Fleet had a good discussion about this on the Discord and we presented it to Cryptic, they MIGHT take notice than one of the first fleets in the game is coming to them as a collective saying what needs to be fixed.
