When I start my computer, ARC immediately attempts to download new data. It then errors out. I have waited until the computer has been on for a bit, and it still errors out. My apologies for my absence while I restore my ship's computer.

~passes T'Pau a 6 pack~

In my medical opinion, you should drink heavily.

But no, really. I work in IT, whats up?

Is it possible to disable the automatic ARC Updates?

Have you tried running it as Administrator?/Have you checked your firewalls?

T'Pau,

You can bypass the ARC program by going to:  C:\Program Files (x86) finding the Perfect World or Arc folder and then opening the Gameclient.exe file (you can right click on this and "Send to" and choose the Desktop to create a shortcut on your desktop to the game itself).  You can execute the game from your Desktop.

Then you can go to:  http://www.arcgames.com/en/games and try over writing the Arc client software before going the route of uninstalling it.  I think the Uninstaller for Arc may also allow you to keep the installed games, but I can't remember all the prompts, so try overwriting it first.

I work in IT.  I have also had to deal with these problems for the Fleet as Chief Engineer for a couple of years.  Let me know if this works, if not, uninstalling may be unavoidable, but I seem to remember having the option to keep the games in place, so you don't have hours of installation time.
