Thanks for digging this one up.
And, it looks like my prayers were finally heard! I was one of those who didn't consider J.J. Abrams's movies a real Star Trek. They damaged the canon so badly. Fortunately, the Prime Universe got away unscathed, and they are now returning to its legacy!
There could be no better news for a hardcore Star Trek classic fan.

"Prelude to Axanar" is a film short. It is not the feature film. The feature's, "Star Trek: Axanar", release date has not been determined yet. It looks like a fan film masterpiece. I can't wait.
