I'm happy about this. Really love the Galaxy. Not sure if I will pick it up or not since I have Guardian. It's got the same general lines. I wasn't expecting this, pattern suggested to me next ships would of been escorts. They don't have a none Intel T6 one yet like they do for a cruiser and science ship.
I hope the trend continues though. Sovereign model could really use an overhaul like they did with the Intrepid and Galaxy skin.

They are actually 3 new ships. Personally I think the best Cryptic designs are those closely designed from the canon ships. Guardian=sexy 2410 Ambassador, Sao Paulo=sexy 2410 Defiant, etc. Granted the Venture is a 2410 style Galaxy already, but the Galaxy is a lot like the Connie. It's one of the most loved designs and for years people on the forums have requested this ship be updated and not left behind. Cryptic just finally listened, much like they did giving people the T5 Akira that was begged and pleaded for.
Cryptic is just nice enough to know that players, like myself, love the canon design and enjoy being able to fulfill fantasies flying their favorite ships from the shows and movies. Most of the original ships that made it in game are in need of re-skins anyway. So I'm glad they are touching up the show favorites.

Nothing against that I love my venture hell the venture dread is my flag ship. But I was hoping for something with a smoother design like a new Orleans class or a new escort perhaps a warship? To see its just a new skin and traits for ships I basically have I'm kinda like eh. I'm still waiting for fleet versions of the Intel andcommad ships so that might be it too lol.

I'm with you on this. Depending on what xtra console slot is added to Guardian will determine my commitment to stay in that ship. +1 Tac slot, and that thing will be one of the best rounded cruisers in game.
However, I am tempted now for that new Galaxy......it's got some Tac power now. It's truly been one of those I've wanted to fly but felt way too limited in. So hopefully we will see the Fleet versions for the first T6 ships.

With Davis on this as well. Id love to see fleet versions for my intel and Command cruisers....its kind of ridiculous to put out another galaxy class when you already established the guardian as the new version of it.

Yea, that's how I felt when Guardian came out. My reaction was "Sweet, updated looking Galaxy.....with a touch of Ambassador". Maybe they will add the others' fleet versions tomorrow. Patch notes will tell I guess.

Command ships are already fleet quality so no fleet variant of those...similiar to the odyssey or vesta class ships when they came out.

Are you sure? I kind of expect a fleet version because it just wouldn't make sense to do that unless your saying their 6 ships out flank fleet ships, which as far as I know,isn't what they are going for
