Captains log, Earth date 17/04/2414, Location: Brisbane, Australia

It's been nearly a month since I've been transferred to the 7th, and it as been an eye opener. After nearly a 2 years since being posted to the Gallipoli, the little Miranda that could, and the 129th Escort Squadron, I have finally been promoted to a junior position in such a prestigious and legendary fleet. It's a far cry from the old ES, where the most dangerous thing  was a possible Orion raid on a freighter convoy, but it has certainly opened new avenues within Starfleet.

In my time with the 129th ES, I commanded a few decent ships, with loyal crews, such as the Beersheeba, a Constitution-class cruiser that suffered many beatings as we took part in defensive operations against enemies such as the Klingon Empire and the Borg, and the Tobruk, my old faithful Oslo-class escort, which saw me through my days as a commander and into the 7th, where almost immediately I was promoted to Starfleet Captain (though I am still a rookie in the eyes of the Fleet) and the command of the Defiant-class Tactical Escort: the Kokoda. the adventures against the Tal Shi'ar, the Klingons and the various other enemies of the Federation are stuff of legends amongst my crew, though my experiences pale next to those of the rest of the Fleet. I hope to one day stand shoulder to shoulder with them, as a brother in arms, instead of the disposable rookie (Note to self, get a yellow uniform)

However, with My new ship, the U.S.S A.N.Z.A.C, I am sure that I shall begin my journey to become a valued and trusted member of the fleet.

Until then

Vice-Admiral Preston (ensign of the 7th Fleet, SF) Signing off.

 Captains Log, Stardate 241509-13

I have assumed command of the Andromeda class cruiser, the USS Gallipoli-B, named firstly for the Gallipoli Campaign, the first time my home country, Australia, fought together as a nation, and secondly after my first command. It is an honour to once again command a ship with such an Illustrious name and heritage, but it is a little daunting. Up until now, most of my commands have either been light cruisers or escorts, with the only exception being the Ambassador class ship, the USS Villers-Bretenneux. These cruisers are enormous. I used to sidle up against these giant lumbering hulks and protect them, but somebody decided that I was to command the next one of the production line. That officer is a moron.

I also am sad to report the death of three of my bridge personnel, who were killed in our third engagement with Iconian forces, and the loss of many NCO's and other ranks crew members during the fighting, particularly during the battle of Ebon 3. My squadron, most of them on lone from the 15th Armada and the 44th ITS, was decimated, leaving only my ship and the old USS Tobruk and the USS Gallipoli-A, both pulled out of retirement for the fight, as the only defenders of the planet. Both ships were destroyed in the final battle, where two Iconian dreadnoughts ambushed us as we escorted the final civilian transports out of the system. Outnumbered, outgunned and hopelessly out matched, we fought to the last torpedo, ensuring that 98% of the ships got away. The Tobruk took fire to the bridge, killing my security officer, Lieutenant Shemyn (who had taken command of the ship) and Ensign Tebanelli, who was vented out into space. We retrieved her body after it collided with the viewport on the observation deck. The original Gallipoli was consumed by fire, leaving us with no chance to beam survivors aboard. As it stands, we saved 40% of the crew of the Tobruk, and beat a hasty retreat into deep space, before limping back to Earth.

Then there was the awful fighting on New Sydney, where we were deployed to help with a ground offensive. I lost my chief medical officer, Saundra Temarn, as her triage centre was destroyed by a horde of Heralds. We recovered their burned corpse for burial.

As a Star Fleet officer, I am sworn to defend the Federation. But as a man, I am tired of the fighting and the death of my friends and comrades. I hope the fighting ends soon, and when it does, I might apply for a transfer to Starbase Solac Yatug, to Fleet historian division.

With the Iconian defeat, w have so far started relief efforts on the worlds they ravaged, New Sydney being one. The rebuilding goes well, and the planet is becoming beautiful once more. Heck, I might retire here one day.

Our new bridge officers are making themselves useful, and the new security officer has really stepped up, providing more security protocols to combat any opportunistic raiders that may threaten the peace on this world. Lets hope her work bears fruit, and that we never have to fight another losing battle on this planet.

Tomorrow though, I, and the Gallipoli, must report to Starbase Solrac Yatug for the Admirals call, and the wargames that will follow. This will be my first time meeting the rest of the armada, and hopefully we'll forge great new bonds between our respective units

Commander Preston, signing off

Another day, another battle. After shore leave back on Earth, the crew is fit and well rested once again. But, unlike ur previous voyage, we will not be taking out the Gallipoli again. She is being put in drydock, to be refitted for Exploration detail, Alpha Quadrant. Can't say I'm surprised, I'm not really on for those slow, lumbering cruisers anyway. Most of the nearly 1500 crew members are staying with her, while I've received permission to once again, for the time being, transfer my flag back to the U.S.S ANZAC. With the Terran Empire stirring up trouble again, it will be needed in the coming fight.

I must say, I'm glad to be back on the old girl. This ship got me through the Iconian War fairly intact, as with most of the crew. I'm in command of a small squadron of ships, notably including the Beersheba, the Villers-Brettouneux, the Gallipoli-B and the Tobruk-C All ships I've commanded over the years, and without a doubt some of the finest old birds in Starfleet. We are urrently running supplies to damaged colonies, the Romulan Republic and Cardassia, as well as operating against True Way and Terran insurgents on numerous fronts. Whatever the future holds, myself and my crew are ready to defend Starfleet, the Federation and all innocent beings in the galaxy against tyranny in any form.

Though that weird experience in with that time traveler is giving me a bad feeling....

Commander Andre 'Cabcrow' Preston, signing off
