Impressive, still waiting for full launch before I invest in the game.  On a side note, still trying balance out a schedule with my job, been tossed about across three shifts as the training demands grow.  In the mean while I've been throwing in what I can for K-13, sorry for missing recent events.

You have to go to YouTube and see this in full screen mode.  It is absolutely beautiful.

I had been having trouble last time I tried to do anything in SC in v2.5, so I installed v2.6.  I can get in now, although I found that for some reason the starbase ground map is excruciatingly slow and choppy now where it wasn't before.  It's "playable" now though, because I no longer have the bug that made me apparently a disembodied spirit.  Now it's just unplayable because it's so slow and choppy that it is painful even on minimum graphics settings [even like with 800x600 graphics].  So I guess it's just broken for now.  But progress, as far as my computer is concerned.  At least I have a space suit on now and can go through the airlock, if I'm willing to tolerate the choppiness and lag.

I was able to get into the flight module, and my ship shows up again now, but the game wouldn't recognize one direction of one axis on my joystick.  I left the game and fired up another game to test the joystick and it works fine.  The joystick did work OK in previous versions of SC.  Weird.  I figured it was about time to get a new one anyway though, and ordered a cheap Thrustmaster.  I see on Amazon's order page that it's waiting for me on the doorstep even now.  My old one was basically the same model, but it's freakishly old.  Like 15 years old.  I figured maybe a new one with customizable software might work better with SC.

Interestingly, the flight part of the game is smooth and fast.  I didn't try launching Star Marine yet.  I got obsessed with trying to get the joystick to work right and eventually ran out of time.

If you haven't ordered yet, the Thrustmaster T16000M has downloadable software to configuring the stick to Star Citizen:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MQEDEEW/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Amazon Price $59.99

https://support.thrustmaster.com/en/product/t16000m-fcs-en/  And, here's everything on the stick, and, under Game Settings, there are the preset configurations for (1) stick or (2) in Star Citizen.

The two stick configurationis supposed to allow you to bypass the keyboard for 90% or more of in-game flight functions.  Between the 2 sticks you have 32 programable buttons, 4 axis, 2 8way hatches, and two sliders.  The videos out their say it becomes very intuitive with a slightly easier memorization curve - outside of WSAD, the keyboard functions in game didn't seem all too intuitive to me. So, I've been contemplating the prospect.

The cheaper joystick that I got, linked above in a post of mine, turns out to work fine in SC.  Also, the next time I logged in, the lag issues were almost gone.  Performance could be better, but it was certainly quite playable.

I snagged this very important PSA from one of my Homies over at the 42UDGs (Hat tip: Kodo):

"PSA: Alt + F4 will crash your game, your PC or both. Don't do it. I discovered this in Crusader today after someone helpfully suggested in chat that it "checked your crimestat."

Qa'pla
