EA's Origin now has Mass Effect 2 listed at on the house. If you haven't played it, it is a great game and you can play it as is or download saves to customize your world. Mass Effect was the first game to carry over your world from the previous game and they did a pretty good job of showing you the consequences of your actions.

Highly recommended.

Maybe Game of the Year, but not of all time.  However, every few years a game comes out the sweeps the world.  Mass Effect series was one of those games.  Even ME3 was good, except for original ending, but we won't go there.   +2 to recommendations above.    Lest we forget from ME1, the best line ever spoken in a game:

ME 2 was the game that really got me into gaming. The gameplay, the story, the fact that the most genetically perfect human was an Aussie. (suck it, Britain) It drove me to try more new and exciting games. Before that I played a lot of Runescape *shudder* and never really felt a connection to a game. It is my best game ever, of all time.

FCPT Preston -- (nods head) I think we all know and understand.  We all have games that have stuck with us.  What I have seen over the last 25 years or so, is that gaming has gotten so much better.

Some of my favorite golden oldies are:

Pool of Radiance

Oregon Trail

Fallout 3

Baulders Gate

Dragon Age

Oblivion/Morrowind/Elder Scrolls

Sid Meyer's Alpha Centuri

Back in the day, my co-workers/peers wondered why I wasn't watching "must see" television.  We gamers had to keep our after-hours guilty pleasure to ourselves.   Game on!

Cheers
