your gradients are great, are you doing those in illustrartor and placing them as an object in photoshop?

have you ever tried creating vector gradients in Illustrator then, select , copy and pasting them into a photo shop layer as smart object? You can then manipulate the object as if it was a vector image, never lose any resolution in the psd up until flatten - FYI - I thought that was how you got that great gradient.

I may have to look into putting illustrator on here, I'm pretty sure we have it. My fiance swears by it for putting text on stuff for some reason.
The next trick of yours I was going to steal was rotating the direction of the stitching and playing with the light settings... I didn't think of that but I was looking at some of your patches and noticed that you had the stitching textures rotated depending on what part of the patch they were on.
I still learn new stuff all the time about PS. Wish I could afford the newer one, but the cost just isn't justifiable with my budget, since it's just a hobby.

I have Illustrator but hardly ever use it, ignorance I suppose, I have other vector programs that I am better with. I can see that once you master it you would never look back.
Photoshop hasn't changed that much since 6.
