Subject: Proposed Project: Lancer Weapon System, AKA "Lancer"

--Description of Project Lancer:

Project lancer is intended as a full weapon system for Support ships, either Cruisers or Science Vessels in a support roll. The main Weapon Load out for the Lancer will consist of mostly Turrets, with 1 Beam bank or Torpedo Launcher, or both.

The expected benefit to the lancer is to allow a ship to focus on healing or supporting fleet members while still allowing the ship to continue to fire on a target no matter the direction it is facing. As we know, some abilities, such as Extend Shields, require we be within 5km of the target, as such, keeping the bow of the ship towards an enemy can be quite trying.

Lancer is a Weapon System, as well as a Weapon Load Out. It does utilize certain abilities to augment its damage when needed.

LWS is best suited for a Support Role, and thus should be most effective in a group. Testing will be done to find its abilities in a solo encounter.
