CREW PROFILE
COMMANDER DIRTRA SOLARA
Race: Betazoid
Age: 34
Duties: First Officer
A native a Betazed and a family first in Starfleet, Dirtra is the longest serving member of the CALLAWAY crew. She credits her motivation to join to the stories she heard as a child of the Dominion War and the occupation of Betazed. She is firmly devoted to making sure it never happens again. Quickly rising through the ranks in the science department, she also performs duties as the ship's diplomatic relations specialist. Her advanced knowledge of astrophysics, the ship's sensor suite, and the study of spatial anomolies make her an invaluable asset to the CALLAWAY.
In her limited off-duty time, Dirtra enjoys watching 20th century earth movies and keeping up with the latest developments in astronomy.
CO Comment:
Dirtra is considering transferring to a command position of her own, both to my dismay and pleasure. She is more than ready. For the present though, she continues to fill her vital role here as a mentor to junior officers and as an advisor to me.
Fleet Comment:
Dirtra is available to provide training to LCDR and CDR level science officers in Jam Sensors III and Gravity Well III.
((Thought this would be a fun way to flesh out my ship and crew background))

CREW PROFILE
LIEUTENANT JASPER WRIGHT
Race: Human
Age: 28
Duties: Tactical Officer
Jasper, known as "Jas" to most, is the CALLAWAY's senior tactical officer. A charismatic and sometimes downright conceited man, he likes to describe his job as "putting warheads on foreheads." Although being assigned to the CALLAWAY for well over a year now, he still makes no attempt to hide his disappointment with being assigned to a science ship, and frequently makes reference to his first ship, the CUTLASS, and its superior firepower. Regardless of his attitude, none can argue with his steady hand and quick reflexes which allow him to target specific subsystems on enemy vessels.
Off-duty, Jas enjoys working out and spending time in the holodeck. He has recently started studying a Bolian style of hand to hand combat taught by CALLAWAY's MACO Team Leader.
CO Note: Will continue to counsel Jasper on the primary mission of Starfleet, exploration, and make follow-up reports. After overhearing several comments from other crew members I've been forced to have weekly reports delivered on Jas's activities in the holodeck. I don't want "Orion Sex Slave IV" polluting my main computer.
Fleet Note: Does anyone else want this guy? He's kind of a problem child.

CREW PROFILE
SERGEANT MATET
Race: Ferengi
Age: 35
Duties: MACO Team Heavy Weapons
SGT Matet is a recent member of the CALLAWAY crew, arriving with the assignment of the ship's dedicated MACO team. Many have made the mistake of underestimating her combat abilities due to her small stature. Her preferred weapon is a plasma grenade launcher and she also proficient in multiple forms of hand to hand combat. Within the first few away missions, Matet has distinguished herself as a must-have member on any away team expecting resistance.
A Starfleet officer she may be, but Matet is also Ferengi and it shows in everything she does. She enjoys playing Tongo, and runs a small side business dealing in trinkets from every locale CALLAWAY visits. She is also already well-known throughout the ship as someone who can procure hard to find items.
CO Note: Nothing significant to report.
Fleet Note: Matet is attempting to gain advanced training in turret fabrication.

CREW PROFILE
COMMANDER RICHARD YAMATA
Race: Human
Age: 37
Duties: Chief Engineer
Born on Mars, Rich's parents both worked as engineers at Utopia Planetia Shipyards, exposing Rich to starship construction and design at an early age. Rich actually has a special connection with the USS CALLAWAY, as he worked as a junior engineer on her construction project. He is the third ranking officer aboard ship and though not a combat veteran until recently, his technical knowledge and demanding standards for engineering department keep CALLAWAY mission ready at all times.
According to Rich, a chief engineer is never off duty, but he does make a habit out of preserving his family's Japanese heritage. He describes himself as a novice swordsman, poet, and equine enthusiast.
CO Comment:
Have to be careful not to let Rich push engineering drills too far. Any longer without life-support last time, and we would have started dropping people.
Fleet Comment:
Nothing significant to report.

CREW PROFIILE
LIEUTENANT COMMANDER SANA SHAVASHANKAR
Race: Human
Age: 28
Duties: Operations Officer
Sana fulfills the vital role of operations officer aboard USS CALLAWAY. She is a master multi-tasker, able to operate any number of systems as well as man the communications suite at the same time. Between encounters she is the principal officer in charge of planning the ship's route and schedule.
Sana describes her hobbies as cooking and swimming, but at the present most of her off-duty time is spent working with CDR Dirtra and CDR Yamata on command qualifications. She hopes to complete here preliminary studies within the year and report to SFA for command school.
CO Comment:
I pity the crew that will have Sana as the XO.
Fleet Comment:
Nothing significant to report.

CREW PROFILE
LIEUTENANT COMMANDER TORRAL
Race: Vulcan
Age: 109
Duties: Science Officer
Torral manages the daunting task of heading up USS CALLAWAY's large science department. A true scientist, his unfaltering logic and determination have carried the ship through some her most challenging missions. Torral's analysis commonly reveals aspects that were either dismissed or simply not noticed by other members of the crew.
As with most Vulcans, most of Torrals off-duty time is spent in meditation or review of recent developments within the scientific community.
CO Comment:
If only he were more talkative....sigh.
Fleet Comment:
Torral can provide advanced training in Scramble Sensors.
