Propsed Changes for Klingon Fleet

As of last night, it was brought to my attention that more than a few members would like for our Klingon Fleet to have a slight name change:

Dropping the "House of" and keeping just "SochDIch Yo'" which, for those whom do not know translates as "Seventh Fleet".

I'm certainly open to this, but I wanted our members a chance to voice their opinions as well.

I also would like to consider the following fleet patch as our new patch:



This I believe is more reflective of what is important to our fleet.

The patch looks excellent, sir.

Going to throw another wrinkle in, if I may. To reflect the warrior ethos of the KDF, while keeping a tie to the 7th, what about the following?

Soch = seven
vaj = warrior

Soch'vaj

I know, I'm making waves.

I have also been messing around with trying to get a ribbon device to be added to our current ribbons, to denote the KDF completion of same events.

I came up with the following image, but I'm having difficulty getting the "white field" to become transparent when it is placed on the ribbon:

There is a small patch of white between the Top of the 7 and the upper crossbar that needs to be blacked out as well - to create a separation.

Then I think this KDF 7th device could be placed on the existing STF Ribbons to show when they are alson completed on the KDF side.

Soch - Seven

Seventh = SochDIch

Yo' = Fleet

Vaj = Warrior

Options:

Soch'vaj = Seven Warrior

SochDIch'vaj = Seventh Warrior

SochDIch Yo' = (Current) Seventh Fleet

I'm actually liking the combination of the current and P'Rett's ('Vaj) translating to Seveth Fleet Warrior

Now the "Black Field" is a bit more subdued then the white, but still not transparent.

I will test out the "7" with just the lower crossbar as well.

I didn't realize the black field would show up regardless if I made the background transparent. So I just slapped it on.

I looked again and decided to keep the upper crossbar for this reason:



If you carefully look at the upper left insignia on the sash (unlocked at BGen or Higher) you will see the "7th" device.

This device also appears on two lower level sashes I will post those soon.

It appears the Cryptic has paid the "Lucky 7th " Fleet homage on the KDF side of the house!!!!!!

I don't know how to pluralize in Klinzhai; i was trying to convey "7 warriors" with Soch'vaj.

I like Soch'DIch'vaj; it sorta feels like the "13th warrior" myth/superstition. Maybe I'm just a bit odd.

Although, I foresee a potential problem if juvenile minds decide to be a bit free with its pronunciation.

Well there are a few issues with the naming of the fleet, that can't or won't be changed.....

First off, some form of 7th should be included.

Secondly, I strongly suggest we keep it in the Klingon language.

Third, we can not avoid the fact that SochDIch = Seventh.

Fourth, we should not let the potential immaturity of others dictate our choice.

I'm all for keeping the 7th as part of the name, and keeping it in Klinzhai.
