I take no pleasure in clearing out some of these people; but even reserve status has limits. If an individual has not visited the website in over 100 days, the odds of them returning are pretty slim.

People who are in more than one guild on guildlaunch will show up as having visited the forums, when they may not actually be visiting the 7th fleet forums. Mr. Randle was in two other guilds that use guildlaunch.
He has also sold his STO account.
I do not take any of this lightly; before a member is removed I do my absolute best to verify their forum logins, their game logins, their reserve status, and their overall situation. Removing the few people that I have this morning took me well over 3 hours as I cross referenced three different roster lists (forum, in-game, and master spreadsheet) as well as investigate recent postings made by anyone I'm looking at removing.
This fleet really does not ask a lot in order to maintain membership status.

By all means, let him know that of course if he ever chooses to come back to STO he is welcome to reapply and that his application would certainly be accepted without question - this goes for anyone so honorably discharged.
There simply comes a point, however, when the Fleet has to cut its losses, so to speak. If we are to try and maintain a roster of roughly 60 people - which has been previously established as our goal - having a large group of truly inactive members weighs us down and fouls our numbers.
That we had approximately 66 unique members on our forum roster, and cannot actually get a total of 20 people online at once for a major fleet event, shows how skewed our numbers are.
I need to be able to open up membership slots in order to push for recruitment drives. Guilds always need fresh blood cycled through the ranks, or they die.
This goes for the fleet as a whole, as well as for individual TF's. For example, TF 80 remains the biggest TF overall - but, are they really? How much of their roster is filled with guys we never see, guys on reserve, or guys who don't generally participate? I cannot go and assign new recruits to TF 80 because to do so would be incredibly inconsiderate to the other TF's who dont have the same numbers; especially when considering how this impacts the quarterly wargames. Everyone takes pride in their TF, and it would be incredibly unfair to assign people to a TF that is already larger than the others. Would we rather keep a guy on reserve who has neither logged into the game nor made a post in over a year, or we would we rather find someone out there who is playing the game regularly and wants to be a part of the Fleet?
