Terradome is a mission that takes place in NGC-2447 in the Gamma Orionis Sector Block. This mission is a bit of a throwback; it has remained largely unchanged since its release. Much like the original STF's, this is a lengthy and difficult squad level mission with both ground and space components.
I will be running this mission one time on March 7th and one time on March 21st. This means that there is a total of 8 slots available for the month. If you are interested in attending, please respond in this thread. Include which department of character you intend to bring, or have available (science, engineering, or tactical).
Some things you should understand:
This is not necessarily first come, first serve. I will choose teams how I see fit. In order to be awarded the Terradome ribbon, the team must succesfully complete the mission. I will likely choose to balance the team with at least 1 engineer and 1 science officer. I will only take Vice Admirals into this mission - while the prereq is only level 47, there is a stage where members of the team are forced to seperate on the ground and manage an area of responsibility from invading undine. If you are not a VA, it is unlikely you will succeed in protecting your area during this phase of the mission. If the team fails during that particular phase, the mission fails and the team is placed on a 20 hour mission cooldown. It's possible this lockout has been changed, but I am going to operate on the assumption that it has not.
This mission is not like any other mission currently in game. If you are relatively new to STO, and never played the STF's in their original format, you will see what I mean when we go in there.
If you are chosen for this mission, or on ready status, please make sure you have the following:
1+ stack of Large Hypos
1 Single target ground weapon (Compression Pistol, Stun Pistol, or Sniper Rifle)
1 Multiple target ground weapon (Pulsewave, Minigun, etc.)
Science Officers will need to have a Physician kit (preferred) or a Medic kit available.
Engineering Officers should probably have a Fabrication Specialist kit for the defensive ground phase.
Tactical Officers should utilize whatever kit they are specced for to allow them to take down mobs as quickly as possible.
You must be able to at least listen on Ventrilo.
Other useful items:
Fluidic Space Tribble
Ophidian Cane
Triolic Pattern Enhancer
Shard of Possibilities
Cryo Grenades
Expect this mission to take somewhere between 1 to 2 hours to complete.

I can bring a SCI or TAC to fill in any holes that do not get filled Shack. I already have the Ribbon and would like to get some of the newer members in to get theirs.

Thank you sir, expertise is appreciated. I would like to try and get 4 people in who don't currently have it, but I'm also not sure if that's the best tactical decision. I may try and bring in someone else who has been there before besides me.

Hey guys... I would certainly like to take part with my main character (Tac) but honestly ground is not exactly my strongest suite....
So if there is a place for me I would certainly appreciate it and try my very best

I'm in for 07 MARCH if there's a spot. I've never run Terradome but am certainly open to any and all advice/recommendations.
Vice Admiral tactical officer (my only Fed character) and I have all of the "other" items.

Mr. Shackelford,
What time will your event start? I'm not able to see the Fleet Calendar in game (I can check when I get home tonight), but none of the events have a start time set. That might be an issue for some.
I know that starting sooner than 2030 Eastern Time (1930 Central) would take me out of the running on a weekday. Thursday night with a 13 year old - homework and dinner. Let me know your plans. I might have to withdraw.
Is there anthing special that we should have on our ships? I went on my own to toy around with my Vesta. I loaded a Temporal Disruption Device in weapons slot. When I launch it at 5 to 6 K, the fake USS Poseidon/Sulu runs from it, which allows me to follow from behind and inflict damage.
For those that haven't done this mission, it opens with a wicked fast Defiant with a setup that goes beyond abunch of high DP weapons and gaming keyboard with macro keys set.
The lowest I could get on with a Vesta against that ship was about 45%, before it would get away and recharge itself. I've found he doesn't like distorted space-time. Gravity Wells, the Temporal Disruption Device and Tyken's Rift seem to put him on the run, or at least piss him off. If you can hold him in place with a couple of Tractors and launch a bunch of this crap on him at once and fire like hell with High DP weapons, maybe you could make short order of the window of opertunity(?). I don't know.
I misssed it when everyone else was doing this mission with the Fleet - many moons ago. And because the reward was so low at the end, no one really wanted to hasle with it. I go there every now and then to test weapons against that ship. The best I've ever done was with the Dreadnought and 2 tractors, cathing it from behind, with High DP weapons and a grav-well and a T-Rift. I think I got it below 40% before he got away, regened and nailed me.
I have a hanger or Advanced Peregrine Fighters on the Vesta:
Fighter gear:
* Phaser Pulse Cannons
* Dual Phaser Cannons
* Quantum Torpedoes
Which helped it a bit.
Also, if you want me to switch ships? I will. Tell me what ship you prefer - Dreadnought, Defiant, Heavy Escort Carrier?
JT

Mr. Kerry and all, start time is standard Thursday Night Combat Patrol - formation at 2030 EST, patrol launch 2100.
You ship setup will be fine. Really the only part I'm worried about is the promenade defense.
