Proposed Event: 7th Fleet Wargames vs. the 7th I.T.S.

Hi all,

At this month's Staff Meeting, an idea came up that we would like to run by you to see if there is enough interest in to make it into a Fleet Event. Inter-Fleet Wargames! The Federation 7th Fleet would battle against the KDF 7th Imperial Tactical Squadron.

If we can get 10 members of the KDF 7th Imperial Tactical Squadron, and 10 members of the 7th Fleet to sign up, then we can conduct Federation vs. KDF wargames sometime in October. The date will be determined later, if we get enough signups. The key factor is, would we have enough KDF Fleet members to sign up to get to our target of 10 players per side? Each player who wants to participate has to choose one Fleet to play in that night, so our limitation is the number of players that we can get to commit to playing in the 7th I.T.S. Fleet in order to make it work. Most likely, there will not be a problem getting enough 7th Fleet players to participate.

If you are interested, please reply to this post. Tell us whether you want to play in the 7th Fleet, or the 7th I.T.S., and the name of the officer who you will most likely use.

I will begin by signing myself up for the event. I think we should try to get to 12 or 15 signups for both sides, but especially the KDF side if we can, in case the final date is set at a time when some of the interested officers cannot attend. Please sign up even if the Fleet you wish to fight in has more than enough applicants. If enough of you sign up, we might be able to run the event two nights in a row, so that anyone who couldn't make it the first night or who couldn't get onto a Fleet's team can have a chance to participate.

Would we want to try and do that again? Re-authorize the awards for it and tie the RP on the forums to the matches just like before?

I honestly think it would be a good idea. Not only does it allow some newer members a chance at old rewards, but also some more forum RP as well for new and old. I'd also throw my hat in for the "officiate" job as well.
