With the Quarterly Wargames coming up again, Ganos Lal (Mr. G) and myself will be available to anyone who want/needs any PVP tips, training, and/or practice. We will both be on for 2-4 hours in the evenings and will offer any help we can with Captain skills, Ship load-outs, and DOFF/BOFF setups. Please PM one of us or just hop in vent.

I am not intending to stir the pot, but I will say this: if you don't take advantage of this, and then complain after the war games...well...yeah.

If anyone sees me on feel free to hit me up for a round or two. I might be retired but I still like going head to head once in awhile (thx Novin for the other day) I'll either be in the North Carolina or Akira. If your running a tech build, then you wont get anything out of me. My stance is against them for wargames.

Oh? So if I'm not running the FULL tech build I can still get some help? Awesomesauce. I'll be sure to remove some DOffs and and flip my BOff powers so it's not the tech build... >_<

I know y'all love the Tech build and I'm glad y'all do. But when you can take a build and slaughter another good player (Shack, who's always been one of the strongest) with no effort other then spamming a few buttons.....well there is no pride in that and I'll pass on that type of build any day of the week. Sure I keybind and save my EC for the good toys, but I'll stick to flying something that takes more piloting effort to win when it comes to PvP. I never used a Tech build in any games even after finding it and I'm proud to say that. My 2 cents, if any one cares.

I know that I'm a new guy, but I feel that I need to chime in here. While I respect everyone's right to their opinion, I can't agree with the idea that a certain build is, unfair, or, "un-prideful." Part of any game is figuring out the tricks to improve your character/build. The Technician build, though obviously quite powerful, still takes a decent amount of skill to work properly. There are also builds out there that can counter the technician build.
My understanding is that the War Games are about both having fun, and learning how to work as a team against the fiercest of competition, other players. To that end, I don't see how you can criticize a particular build. Look at the build, understand what it is and how it works, and either come up with a counter to it, or adapt it to make yourself better.
If I might make a suggestion... We have TOS Tuesday... Can we have a night during the War Games where you can only bring lieutenant ships. (equipped however you want.) That might be an interesting twist. I'm sure that not everyone will want to participate in that, but it might be fun/interesting.

The rules for the wargames were discussed and set at the last Command meeting.

Just curious, but are the wargames Federation V. Federation or Federation V. KDF, i.e., in-house?
Another question? How come we don't challenge or play other fleets in these wargames? At least on the KDF side, I have been approached several times over the last few months about this. Since I don't know, I give as honest answer as I can -- we don't have enough folks to field a KDF PvP team. Note: I play a few a hours each day with players in the EU time zones.
At the end of the day, all I want is a respectable build(s) that can survive some of the elite areas of the game. Cheers

Are the rules posted? Just wondering. I wanted to read ahead.
I would like to go over my complete build with one of you two, including captain skills and BOFFS/DOFFS. I know of a couple corrections to my skills based on what I want to do, which is be a total pain in the a$$. Currently running all beams and mostly BORG items. Still working on OMEGA Tier iv for the possible torpedo launcher. Will probably stay with all beams though. I am realistic about my chances in wargames, I just want to have a strong showing this time around. I should be able to hold my own unless all us suxs end up on the same team, lol. Just kidding.

At the risk of sounding hypocritical for my part in the increase of tension in the after-action discussion of the last war games...FCapt Davis and FCapt Huckabee, fight nice or I'll help COM Kor put you both in a tandem agonizer booth.

I will put the complete rules in forum post when I get back from Christmas. They are fairly straight forward and the only thing we changed from the past Wargames is the way we draw teams. That process was explained in the Dec Admin Cycle notes located on the home page.

It's still a little cause for concern as it being random can potentially place powerhouses on the same team, or was this addressed somewhere I missed?

It's random, it's as fair as it gets.
