Playing today I got to noticing that I don't really, well ever, see Defiants anymore while playing. It's possible I've seen maybe 1 in the last 2 weeks. Has this beautiful lil' ship of pure destruction secured it's place among players with the other original VA ships in the obsolete bin? It can't be so. I don't fly mine exclusively like I did before T5 Akira hit and I found a build for my Sovi, but still it's a badass little ship that should be still on the frontlines.

I don't ever see them, but it might be because they're so small. I think they are in a similar place as the T'Varo warbird. Just can't last very long in pvp.

I see them every now and then, but they certainly aren't as common as they used to be.

My main is a tactical and I've never had him in anything but a defiant. That's why I rolled an Engineer, so he can switch in and out of ships more easily.

I wish they had a system that would allow you to make up your own officer layouts and just sell the ship hulls in the store. That way, say you're a Tac and like running a classic Tac setup, you could have your ship be a Intrepid or Luna without being forced with Sci lay out. I'd like to see that type of ship diversity instead of wild mix-n-match ships and silly effects to skin from gear. Oh well, guess that semi immersion dream for game will always be in the land of wishes.

I just really wish I had some time to get on more often again, sir! I still have the Shagohod Defiant. I just hate getting in game and just going through the old motions all over again. I'm pretty decked out in antiproton and quantum with a sexy mix of emitters customized a while back. Never did me much wrong!
But, again, I just wish I had time to come on when everyone's on.

I am willing to ressurect it if Huck or someone can provide me some guidance.
How viable is it as a PVP/wargames ship?

It can be very effective in PvP. Generally though it requires you to be surrounded by a good team in group PvP. At least one good healer helping you and being able to keep it alive will discourage people from firing on you. If you can master dropping out of cloak and having your team focus one person, you can easily get the number advantage in seconds.
Wargames is more about the team, then the single ship or Capt.
1vs1 it can take down anything but the Tech cruiser builds, it just cant stay alive long enough. A power drain can take it down, but if you put out the damage you can destroy them before they have a chance. Once you get the hang of it, you can take down the best of the lockbox ships too.
My build was posted, but it seems that I/or someone has by accident deleted the pics. I'll work on putting some more up.

I believe I am going to take this on as a project for me Fed alt. Not sure about beams or cannons, but I have most everything I need at fleet level. I use polaron. What are the recommended dity officers for this type ship? I can't use tech build. I could use 3 Conn officers. I want to make sure I spend wisely on them. I don't want to switch them around. I can only afford them once. The wife will give me hell if I spend more than just to buy the fleet level ship. I will be flying it as a scince officer, so I can use Sun-Nuc, etc.

U.S.S. North Carolina - Defiant class
That's my build. It's expensive. You want to go dual heavy cannons. If you go beams, then you are already dead in this ship. Unless you want to throw in 1 in the rear and a Dual Beam up front. In that case refer to my help guide below, which is update I believe. The Defiant class is it's main focus.

I have a level 50 of each variety. I believe I am going to stick with the science officer beacuse it is what I know. Gonna purchase my ship tonight, and pray the wife misses the transaction, lol.
