You fly of the biggest ships available in STO, yet in most cases, you find yourself by surrounded by many smaller ships. You have a good ship, an excellent crew, and your fighters are some of the best in the game, and yet something is missing. The other Captains just can't relate to the day-to-day issues you face, especially with such a large crew & ship. They don't understand why you can't stop and turn on a dime, or why you don't go into direct combat. Know this, Carrier Captains, you are NOT alone.
While patrolling in the Dyson Sphere, Captain Thu'fir of the 7th I.T.S., captaining the Advance Obelisk Carrier CHOAM, receives a FLASH message from 7th Fleet. There is a BORG incursion in the Khitomer Space and all Carrier Captains are ordered to report. If there is one thing the KDF and Federation both agree on is that there is no room for the BORG, especially this close to the Dyson Sphere Access Gate. The CHOAM immediately goes to Battle Stations and using Transwarp, is at the scene of an ongoing battle. The local Federation Commander orders two Carriers to the Right, and two Carriers to the Left, while he will maintain control of the middle. Launching all Swarmers, the CHOAM goes into battle. In front of us is a Borg Tactical Cube, always a bit of challenge, but with four carriers in the battle, it is reduced to space debris in a few moments. Then we break to our respective sides and commence with the mission at hand. For the most part, all goes well, especially with very little communication between ships. After both gateways have been destroyed, a large Romulan/Borg Augmented Ships appears, captained by Donantra. The respective Captains spread their ships across the field of battle and let fly their fighters. On Donantra's third attempt to use her Tholian weapon, she was so damaged, she cloaked and fled the field of battle. We had won the day.
Just a thought, but was thinking that those of us that captain a Carrier, could get together once or twice a month a few a fly STF's together. The good thing is that we can be either KDF or Federation. Wednesday and Thursday Evenings, perhaps?
