I just wanted you to know that I was promoted to rank of LT and was able to claim my pre-order bonus Constitution class starship, which has been designated USS Towers.

I may still stick around in (what I assume is the...) beginer's area and complete a few more missions. However, I would also like to join up with the fleet and start doing my share, whatever that might be. Please tell me where TF78 is located and what I need to do to get there. Will the trip be anything like Eve where getting to various places can be hazardous to your health?

Come up on Ventrilo, and ask the senior officers in-game to be invited to the fleet. Once you're in the Fleet, we can help you get ahead! If you need the Ventrilo setup info, let me know, but I believe it was sent to you some time ago.

Not even close. The only 'danger' is that you might get pulled in to a sector defense instance above your level; but even that isn't deadly as long as you are at your keyboard when it happens. You can warp right out.

There is nothing comparable to null sec anywhere in STO.

TF-78 is now stationed at DS9, however the 78th will help you get cought up, please let us know what you do need help with.
