re: ACTION WEEKEND
Captain's Log Supplementle:
"I'm sitting in the Captains's chair of the newly commissioned Valkryie-D on a routine patrol in the Teneebia Sector.."
"T'lar... Anything to report?" I ask m science officer, already bored having seen nothing but comets and dust nebulas.
"Nothing yet, Captain, though that does not mean we will not see another comet."
"Was that a joke? From a Vulcan?" I and the rest of the bridge crew chuckled.
"No, sir. I was just stating a fact from the knowledge of the previous hours of cataloging the astral comets that have passed in this system."
"Way to kill it.." Neilel said hefting her head in her left hand, and her arm on the arm rest of her chair.
"Sir," T'lar began as everyone turned around. "Longe range scans have indicated a large mass moving at slow warp through the Sierra system near Starbase 39."
"Can we get a visual?" I asked. T'lar nodded and put it on the viewer..
"It appears to be another Crystalline Entity. They have been appearing more recently within these sectors and are a very serious danger to trade routes and ships in the area." T'lar stated.
"Send off a message to Starbase 39 and Admiral Fortin advising him off the situation and orders."
"Already sent, sir." A few mintues pass.... "Recieving reply. This is a Fleet wide message sir, audio only."
"Play it."
"
"This is Admiral Fortin. All available ships are ordered to the Sierra system to engage a newly formed Crystalline Entity within the system. Please acknowledge and rendvous and Starbase 39 for brief and fleet formation. Fortin Out."
"Helm, how long will it take to get to 39 at warp 7?"
"One week, sir 5 days if we go at max."
"7 will be fine Lt. Make it so." I sat back in the captain's chair contemplating whats going to happen next...

Should be a a blast, the last one was fun. Maybe we should start discussing how we want to try and win this one, there seems to be a few different tactics floating about. Would be good if we were all on the same page come go time.

USS Massachusetts will be undergoing refit that weekend. I will see if I can have space-dock make expedient repairs and to make ready for battle!

Alaska will be there. My XO is away that weekend, so I can play :-)
Maybe Lt. Commander Marcus Tory Greenhaven can use his Tricobalt device on the CE.
TF555 had at the CE a few days ago along with another 10 ships and it took us about an hour to get it to 48 percent. We gave up.
I say we try killing it with 25 to 30 ships.

Definitely pays to be on the same page with this one. Perhaps a Tactical Threat and Vulnerability Assessment with an overall Fleet Strategy posted?

Setting new course. USS DAYSPRING was unable to be present at the last event. This time we will be at at least one of the three, if not all. God Speed!

I will be participating at least one of the nights.
On a related note, I read on the STO forums today that using the "Scramble Sensors" skill on the CE works really well.
