Damn. I'm going to have to miss this, as I have to be out of town on business.

Any chance you'll do this again? I really want to learn how to use this feature.

Thanks!

I am really going to try and make this. Lang gave me some starter tips, but I haven't had time to get into the meat of it. I make a fair amount of movies for my captains log, and this is a great tool, I've never seen anything like it. Being able to control the camera movements opens a huge array of possibilities...

Yes the demo record feature is, in my opinion, the best thing about STO now. Making the videos and movies of what ur doing is awesome. on a side note you can also, if u dont have the mod, see that the sector space doesnt have any of the clutter. I installed the mod that takes away all the sector space clutter space lanes lollipop sticks etc.

I had signed up for tomorrow nights class, Mr. Mercer, but it turns out that I won't be able to make it.

I did, however, do some reading up on it, and played around with it for a bit last night. This thing is insanely powerful and awesome, I can't wait to get some good footage and make something out of it.

Also, from what I have read, it's not really designed to be... fraps'd. You can export the demo file into other software for processing, then import that into a video editor like movie maker. I don't fully understand that process yet, I have been doing what you're doing - using fraps on the playback - but it leaves the demo interface on there of course, as well as has some issues with 'skipping' in the framerate. Ideally, you would want to do the export thing; just not sure what software you need or how you do it.

Here's the thread I have been reading:

Oh that sucks but if you like i can give you a crash course tonight using some combat patrol footage if you want Happy or even before hand. But your right Demo record isnt designed to be fraps'd, but in all scenarios its FASTER then exporting. I myself dont know what program is used to do the changing but im sure it takes a load of time to do so for some computers if not many. Thats y i use fraps because its already in the movie format all u have to do is drag and drop to the movie maker, considering how long it takes to actually set up the cameras in the demo viewer i find using fraps is just.. better . As for the skipping i rarely see that in the finished videos that i post i always see it in the movie maker while i edit it. that whole sequence with my galaxy flying by in the vid up there? skipped everytime i played it through making the timing really hard but when i posted it there was no problem. i think its just fraps being goofy in the movie maker sometimes, and with better movie makers u can always letterbox it or cut of the interface strip so its not too much of a problem

Ya, I just bought Magix Movie Maker 17 this weekend, and it allows video cropping... it's pretty nice for the price. Adobe shit is just too expensive, but I wanted something better than the default Windows movie maker.

I'll probably get some clips from CAP tonight; we'll see if I have time after to chat it up - but I have a handle on it, for the most part. Just using the easy paths, of course, but the more I use it the easier it's getting.
