re: Movie Making: Vent Etiqutte
by Anton Mercer on 10/28/11 10:14
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to post this up for everyone so there isn't any confusion or mishaps. I want these two movies to be perfect, especially RIF: The Movie, so I am going to post a Vent Etiquette that I will be using during the filming process. I ask that you please follow this as best you can.
I know some might say you should mute vent or not be in vent at all, but I do not want to miss anyone who can and is willing to help out with the videos, such as Mr. Augerson this morning, who helped me a lot with his Klingon, hence my etiquette which will be in the form of comments next to my name in vent and I will ALWAYS be a in SG channel...
First off, I will be doing the Klingon Trailer first. (All etiquette will begin with Klingon Trailer:
Klingon Trailer Etiquette
1. KT: Demo = I am taking demorecords for the trailer and it is ok to pop in if I am alone, but please wait for me to say something to you when you pop in if I am not alone as I may be giving instructions.
2. KT: Fraps = This one will be rare, but if this is up I am using fraps and unfortunately I have not found a way for it to not capture other audio so please refrain from talking until it comes down(I may just mute vent during this so I wouldnt hear you anyway )
3. KT: Movie Editing = Just like it says I will be in the editor concentrating so I may not answer you right away if you pop in the channel
Now for Resistance is Futile: The Movie (All etiquette will begin with RIF: ......)
RIF: The Movie Etiquette
1. RIF: Demo = Same as KT: Demo
2. RIF: VO = For those unfamiliar with VO, VO is Voice Over. If this is up please DO NOT enter the channel for anything less then an emergency, as I will be actually recording member's voices to be placed in the movie. (during RIF filming I will be taking away the talking function on vent for notifications)
3. RIF: Design = This means I am making sets in the foundry or writing script for use in the movie and may not answer right away as I will be concentrating.
4. RIF: Movie Editing = Same as KT: Movie Editing
Thank you in advance for reading this and respecting it. I only wish for these to go as smoothly as possible, as I know how precious a lot of our member's time is. The less takes we have to do, the more gets done, and the faster the movies come out! Let's make these the best videos that no fleet can top!!
Respectfully,
Captain Anton Mercer
