Captains Log: Reassignment to the 7th Fleet

The USS Tesla has been ordered to return to Earth Spacedock following the battle at Starbase 24. The ship was battered but my crew acted in the finest traditions of Starfleet and managed to help turn an hopeless battle into a Pyrrhic victory. Of particular note Ensign Tozla's quick thinking at the Helm and Ensign Ziro's ability to mask our signature from the largest threats helped us survive the Second wave of reinforcements that ambushed the Task Force.

Upon our Return The Tesla is to undergo a major refit. Admiral Quinn believes I can do more good for the Federation in a new ship as these old Oberth class vessels lack much staying power in a war of this magnitude. Practicality forces me to Agree although I feel as though I am losing a friend. I am glad I was at least able to bring the Tesla home this one last time.

My new orders are to take command of a new Rhode Island class vessel named the USS Iapetus. It is another small Vessel but it is nearly 100 years more advanced than the Tesla. Along with this transfer of command I have also been approved for Promotion to Lieutenant Commander and I have also been transferred from Admiral Quinns direct command to the 7th Fleet under Fleet Admiral Fortin. I am to report to the Beta Quadrant as soon as I can make the Iapetus ready.

((I'm still tryign to decide that. I was thinking the USS PAtton but I have since thought about naming the Armatige after an Akira a friend of mine liked naming his ships. Even that is in Flux. I'm currently flying Science ships. and I don't know how well I will make the transition to Escorts. My intended Progression at this point is:

USS Tesla - Oberth
USS Iapetus - Rhode Island
USS Patton or Goldadler - Thunderchild
USS Gemini - Bellerophron
Not sure on the ADmiral Tier
Last tier I intend to get an Armitage and name it USS Patton or Goldadler NCC -A

I suppose I should probably get a Promethius to get myself into Escort more before getting my high tier ship. Maybe I would name that the USS Patton and name my last ship Goldadler.
