Proposed Fleet Uniform Variant

Back in the day when the Fleet Uniform was the Wraith of Khan uniform, the 7th Fleet allowed members to wear a Jupiter variant of the uniform. The Jupiter, like TWoK uniform, is no longer obtainable by people who do not already have it it. It was also a uniform that was purchasable by players on the C-store.

While bored today playing around creating this with the TNG movie colors, I came across what I think would make a good variant option for the current TNG Fleet uniform. So I posted to see what people think of this idea and design for the command to talk about at the next meeting, as I plan on bringing this up (since I found what I thought would be awesome).


Starfleet Academy- The uniform uses Fleet Standard colors, with the stripe on pants being I2(basically almost black, but light enough to show stripe).

Yea, same principle as when the Jupiter was a variant, just another option and you had to buy those too. I just got bored, made it, thought it looked cool, and figured I'd throw the idea out there.

I liked it enough to throw it out there I love the 2409 look, without the mess that's on the other uniforms, wish Id bought these when they came out. Of course ya'll, aka command, can shoot the idea down of creating an option uniform like whoever did with the Jupiter back in the day . I could care less.

I wasn't shooting it down; I was pointing out it's an option that would have to be paid for.

Besides, as much as I am a fan of the Jupiter variant optional we did, if we ever mandate fleet uniforms for a function, it's the current TNG movie version. Maybe we could get Shackelford's submission as a "dress-down" variant/optional?

It's like I said, I just threw it out there. I replaced my Jupiter uniform with the one I made with TNG movie colors. Then the idea popped in my head since the Jupiter variant died with the TWoK's, since it closely looked like them, that this looked close to what we have now. Same concept of its something you bought, optional to wear it instead, like the Jupiters were.

It became a uniform that everyone couldn't get after F2P. Therefore we had to create a new one that everyone could use, and didn't have to pay for.

I always wore the Jupiter version myself.

Although thru the underground I have learned the fleet has 4 variants, of which I didn't know, so I probably never would of thrown the idea of this one out there

The TWOK is a Free Uniform on the C-store. Everyone can get it still.

Command doesn't want members to have to purchase their fleet uniform. TWoK uniforms used to be free. That changed, as you noticed, they are now in the store.

So to keep the official Fleet uniform a free option, readily available to anyone who joins regardless of their account or financial status, we had to get rid of TWoK. Fleet Admiral's choice was the DS9.

You mean the TNG movie uniform......that's the fleet uniform, not the DS9

Bleh. I remember when they moved the TWOK uniforms to the C-store. They cost 0
CP. It looks like they have added a price tag to it when they went F2P. That's where I was getting confused.

Sigh. I really hate the C-store... I wish we could all get together, maybe as one of these new fleet projects coming next season, and be able to set a C-store Uniform s our fleet uniform and have it automatically selectable for the Fleet uniform slot for all members weather they paid for it or not.


This isn't the first time this has cropped up with me. Something is on the C-store which limits what the fleets can do.

... so Cryptic and PW can lose out on all that money!? YOUR MAD!! They arn't going to do it for that very simple reason... money...
