Good luck my friend. Remember Drill Sergeants are there to break down the spirit and weed out those that aren't adaptable. I'm not sure how they organize training in the Canadian military, but basic training in the US was a grueling 8 weeks of 20 hour days - sleep deprivation was just to see how much you can take. Luckily for me, college afforded long stints of sleep deprivation (self imposed) called finals. Have fun, do what they ask, and be respectful at all times and you'll make it just fine. Let us know how your doing, when you get a chance.

I should note that my first leave will be christmas as the training base closes for the holidays after this leave I won't be free till my basic is done and I am sent to my next posting. The second posting will be filled wit courses relating to my Vehical Technician career. Some where in this second posting I'll have 2 weeks of leave but it may be as far as 8 months from my arrival at the base.

Have a safe trip and good luck! You are starting down a journey that is going to go by so fast you don't even realize it until its almost over. Enjoy these days while you can, even though some of them might suck
