This looks like it may sadly be another example of why we sometimes hesitate on pulling the trigger on making a ship patch... the original requestor is nowhere to be found.

Yea there has been several made recently where the people who asked just disappear. A lot of excellent un-used patches laying around for alts though. I know Evil loves making them regardless, just sucks seeing awesome works sitting around with no one to show them off.

How about Vent presents is a requirement for a patch request...
make it so that ppl can only request the patch via vent (or have a really good excuse for not being able to do that)

It wouldnt be a guarantee that ppl stick around but from the limited time I have been around, I would say that ppl who r regularly on Vent dont disappear from one day to the next.

This guy was actually on vent the night of the last staff meeting. Obviously I'm not sure whether this guy is actually very active or not since I have never really played with him. Mr. G has talked to him before I think.

But I do enjoy doing the patches, at least when I feel inspired. And like Huck said, if the dude bails, then I already have a premade alt patch ready to roll.

I guess I just get really annoyed when we make someone a patch, and they don't ever come in the thread to say thanks. I'm not trying to pick on this particular person; this isn't the first time and it happens more often than I'd like.

I know what you mean. I've sent PM's to *someone* several times in game asking if he ever knew Evil made his patch because he never said thanks or has posted anything since. *Someone* has yet to reply to any of my pm's.
