7th Fleet Uniform - Romulan Edition

The recent Romulan additions to the Federation Fleet are not able to wear our standard Fleet Uniform. We wish to standardize the options for our Romulan characters. Please feel free to share any designs in this thread and the command staff will choose one of the options you all have designed.

The only restriction is that the uniform must only consist of free options (nothing from the Zen store).

I'm going to go with a RR uniform style but try and keep Shack's color key without too much variance.

Will have to have a fashion show with our fearless leader, Commodore Kor and are new Romulan KDF fleetmates. I got a couple of mind looking "AJ and squared away."

Note: Mrs. Wup helped as she has much better color sense than I.

I think the Romulans should try and go for something completely different and not try and match our color scheme. They are still Romulan Republic officers. They are just allied with the fleet. LEt me see what I can whip up.

This might be true, but they are part of "The 7th Fleet". The uniforms will already be different to show their RR, but the colors will reflect they are in the 7th.

Here are my 2 designs. For #1 I went with the Romulan Republic look with some Fed stuff and for #2 went with a majority of Fed uniform options. As you can tell I left all the Romulan goodies (chest gear, belt) because honestly they look cool and shouldn't go waste.

Also went with the one sleeve showing colored branch and the other with the nefty attachment. After all they punch stuff on the arm to beam out, why not give them something to push.

I like your designs Huck, but disagree with all the add-ons. The Fleet uniforms are meant to be simple and uniform. With all those add-ons I'm sure there is bound to be color differences and we frown upon even having gloves with the fleet uniform *whistles innocently*. Even the KDF uniform is simple(more simple than I'd like) The add-ons are cool, but those unis look great without them

Umm the gear would be as is. The colors would be part of the uniform when chosen from the drop down box if either were set to fleet uniform. As you can see no gloves. I'll disagree with you on the matter. Besides people will more then likely add these anyways. Just like people add gloves, pick their own colors, put what rank they want, and use different pants on the Fed uniform. Why not go ahead and implement the cool gear? Its still going to look uniform and its not like its an over complicated 500 pouch/swiss army knife design. The uniforms without the gear just look horrid to me. Just my opinion of course.

As for KDF uniforms, your allowed to add all/some of your veteran stuff to it if you want more flavor. As the one who designed them I put that option with it to allow such a thing.

My 2 cents is to let this issue settle a wee bit, i.e., no rush. IMHO, STO is still playing with the Romulan/Reman uniforms, especially the colors and what is being used between the different fractions. For instance, as soon as I choose KDF for my one toon, I picked up an Female Orion Bridge officer. My goal was to utilize the female Orion uniforms (or lack thereof) for my female Romulan/Remans. First to admit I like a little leg and cleavage for my female Boffs. However, what I got after Mrs. Wup played "dress-up" for a while was female Boffs in color coordinated peasant skirts and go-go boots. I haven't tried yet, but I'm hoping that I will be able to have my Rom/Fed Females be able to wear the Federation mini-skirts. Since I'm old, I just want to look at the uniform color and know they are Engineers, Science, or Tac's.

Also, agree with someone above about all the "flair" the Romulan uniforms have. Since this is suppose to be the official uniform for The 7th and thus a "dress uniform" for official functions, I recommend a clean, simple, and professional looking uniform. However, IMHO, I believe the base color of the uniform should be green to reflect the primary color of the Romulan Empire, with the "necks" or trim to reflect occupation. (See Mr. Huck's above and replace Red Jackets with Green Jackets). To bad they are charging for Zen for the Romulan TOS uniforms. Oh well, life on STO moves on.

I doubt this will happen. Even though they are Romulans, they are in the 7th Fleet. The fleet's primary uniform color is red.

I know it's not under "uniform" category (It's under formal dress) but I like the look of it enough to submit it for a uniform choice. It's very clean cut and instead of the fleet patch on the shoulder it has it on the chest. Tried my best with the colors but they can be changed.

I like to keep things simple, plus both my romulan and federation crew can wear this uniform.
