//7th Fleet STF RECCE Report/The Cure

Phase I - Space - Borg Encounter

Eliminate Borg threat utilizing established rules of engagement.

Phase IIA-IIC - Ground

IIA - Intro to Transformer/Gate Mechanic. The Team will encounter a series of Gates tied to multiple Transformers. Activating these Transformers in sequence without disruption will direct a charge at the Gate, bringing it down. The Transformers take approximately 10 seconds to activate and approximately 20-30 seconds to completely charge, linking it to the next Transformer. Transformers are also on a progress bar (a la Infected, Queens Room) which when reached will reset the Transformer and disrupt the sequence. Starting with the Second group of Transformer Nodes, once each is activated, groups of Borg will appear, along with 'Worker Drones'. The 'Worker Drones' will avoid combat and focus on disrupting the charging sequence and are thus the Priority Target, and will continue to do so, so protecting the activated Transformer Nodes is paramount.

Throughout, Borg Patrols and Groups tied to Interlink Nodes will be encountered, mostly which consist of one node. Also, the Team will encounter Klingons that can be freed from confinement to assist in combating the Borg, and to take genetic samples from.

IIB - 'Four' Transformer Sequence. The final two sets of Transformers consist of four nodes and require additional tactics and coordination to successfully activate all four to bring down the gates. Preliminary Recon suggests that the most predominate strategy is to utilize a divided team tactic that protects activated Transformers from 'Worker' Drones while continuing to clear remaining Nodes in the Sequence. Two possible strategies are as follows:

1)Eliminate. This strategy focuses on team integrity and elimination of all threats. The Team initially begins as a single unit, eliminating the interlink group and ‘worker’ drones at Node 1 before moving onto Transformer Nodes 2, 3, and 4, activating and clearing each successively while one team member remains behind to cover each node while the rest of the Team powers through.

2)Evade. This strategy focuses on dividing the Team and maneuvering to evade and minimize combat, concentrating fire only on ‘worker’ drones. The Team is divided into two elements of two officers each with the fifth in support, who is responsible for activating the Transformers and assisting as able and necessary. Team 1 is responsible for protecting Node 1, taking position at somewhat of a distance, concentrating fire on the ‘worker’ drones and not attacking the interlink group. Team 2 will move to clear worker drones from Node 2 after activation, once again not attacking the interlink group. After Node 2 is clear of ‘worker’ drones, Team 2 will split and use a wide flanking maneuver avoiding combat to take position, one each, near Nodes 3 and 4. The officer in support will then activate Node 3 and remain with the one officer from Team 2 to cover that node. The second Team 2 officer will activate and defend Node 4. If the timing is right, the gate will come down with a minimum of time and combat.

Be aware that upon activation of Node 3, one or two ‘worker’ drones will spawn and move back towards Nodes 2 and 1, eliminate these before they can disrupt the sequence.

IIC - Armek. Once through the last gate, eliminate the Borg in the area and bring down the four generators to unleash Armek. The primary strategy is to designate a stout team member, with good healing abilities, to engage in melee close combat (Bat’leth) while the remainder of the team remains at a distance and provides cover, eliminating drones (2 interlink nodes), and taking shots of opportunity. With the rest of the team at a distance of 20-30m, Armek will focus on the single close-in target. However, if found within range, he will discharge a deadly chain AoE attack (Keep your spacing). At certain points (approx 70% and 30% left), Armek will begin to spawn rotating Cover and Dome shields to obstruct fire, maneuver around the shields, continuing to provide cover and take shots when possible to bring him down.

Phase III - Space - Borg encounter and Assimilated Cruiser. The Task Force will have an opportunity to ‘free’ Klingon vessels to assist in the battle, then will engage the remainding Klingon ships and a series of Borg probes, spheres, cubes, and eventually a Tactical cube. Once the Assimilated Cruiser appears, the TF will have 30 minutes to destroy it. Assimilated fighters and BoPs will continue to spawn, deal with them accordingly and concentrate fire to take the ship down.

//End Preliminary Recon Report

The purpose of this report is to open a discussion to develop useful tactics and strategies to employ and provide a ready resource to accomplish this STF Mission with the best possible chance of success going in.

/R
