Combat Patrol forged ahead as planned and consisted of the Scout, the Saratoga, and the Shiloh. Enemy resistance was heavy, coordinated, and relentless. Seems the Klinks have learned some new tricks. We engaged in 3 seperate sectors, and lost all influence in those areas.

Shiloh intends on working closely with Saratoga during the coming days to increase battle performance. Scout was referred to Dauntless for refit instructions.

Conversations with Saratoga involved buckling down a bit and maintaining a more consistent schedule for CAP. If we're going to succeed, teamwork and coordination needs improvement. Klingon Empire enjoys certain battle advantages we do not; the best method for overcoming these deficiencies is through improved teamwork.

We have just intercepted a signal from the USS Hood. Signal strength was weak and communications garbled. The signals team has run the transmission through several intuitive decryption filters, but this was the best they could come up with. Transmission copy follows:

//S****ATE 88**3.*3

F**M USS HO*D

*e have ta*** ***v* d*m**e. *arp Co** of***ne. Di*ith**m d*p**ted. Li*e s**port a*d impuls* power b*r*ly sustainable. Ur**ntly n*ed a*s*tance. **king best sp*ed to **********************

//Transmission Ends

Transmission source seems to be coming from somewhere inside Gamma Orionis; but we have been unable to lock down the location any closer than that. I have requested information on the nature of the Hood's current mission from Starfleet Command; but as of yet, that information has not been forthcoming. The desk jockeys back at SB-1 don't seem to think we're on a 'need to know' basis for this one.

Shiloh will keep an ear to the heavens and take whatever course of action is necessary to find the Hood. Starfleet Command be damned. Our boys need to make it home.

Shiloh was able to join Arbiter and Sumter for a single patrol this evening. Focus fire was outstanding and comms were nice, clean, and coordinated. It was nice to be able to get a patrol in with Mac, and Lang just put a hurting on people.

After the single patrol, it was decided by this Captain that the Captain works too damned hard. The Captain then broke formation, and Romulan Ale may or may not have been consumed by this Captain.

Combat Patrol this week consisted of the USS Arbiter, USS Comanche, and USS Shiloh. We ran two patrols in the Neutral Zone and participated in 1 Federation wargame.

Win count was horrible, but I feel the squad did it's best and put up some outstanding kill tallies and statistics. File footage follows.

Upon completion of CAP, Shiloh returned to SB-1 for minor repairs and relief. Much to our great relief and surprise, the USS Hood has managed to make it back to Earth from parts unknown.

I was able to speak briefly with Captain Randle and give him a quick debrief of 7th Fleet status. Mr. Randle will be overseeing the Hood's refit and we both hope to see her back in action soon.

The Shiloh received orders from Starfleet Command to assist Captain Cassini of the USS Copernicus in a survey mission of the Alini system.

Upon arriving in system to rendevous with the Copernicus, we immediately found it under fire from a Borg sphere. Shiloh moved to engage, neutralizing the Sphere...

Whereupon we were confronted by a Q entity and forced to 'relive' the rendezvous over several times. Q explained he was testing our abilities to see if we would be able to handle a mission he had in mind for us.

Q transported us back in time to the USS Saratoga during the battle of Wolf 359; where another entity (or group of entities) was attempting to interfere with the timeline by allowing borg boarding parties onto the Saratoga in an effort to prevent Benjamin Sisko from escaping the battle.

Obviously, this would be a major blow to our timeline. We followed Q's instruction and cleared out the Borg on board the Saratoga, allowing Sisko to escape and preserving the past.

Shiloh rendezvoused with the Arbiter and Archer at the Laurentian system under orders from Starfleet Command to scout for Klingon activity and neutralize enemy forces. Force Recon elements of the IKS were digging in to the system when we arrived on station.

Our 7th Fleet squad joined with several other UFP starships and cleared the system.

File footage follows.

Afterwards, Shiloh crew returned to SB-1 and the crew was issued new BDU's. Picture follows.

Finally got a hold of the Tailoring Department. Jesus Christ, you would think I had asked the guy to summon me to a magical dell filled with fairies and sprites whereupon he should present me with a pot of gold. I had to tell the guy in no uncertain terms that my crew wore it's BDU's to actual battle, not parades.

This evening Shiloh rendezvoused with a rather sizeable detachment of 7th Fleet forces for Fleet wargames in place of standard weekly Neutral Zone Patrol. Utilizing the KISS method we were able to complete 6 total wargames in slightly less than 2 hours. Teams were organized largely by the Automated Wargame Queue, though in one instance we were able to establish a Fleet vs. Marines Ground Battle simulation.

Everyone did very well in this preliminary testing of the new Wargame Queue; and I believe we all had some good fun shooting at each other.

Met up with elements of TF-88 and regular Fleet for scrimmage wargames tonight. TF-88 put up one helluva fight; the fleet action wargames scheduled by HQ this month will definitely be interesting.

We finished 3 wargames in about an hour. File footage follows.

Afterwards, my command staff and myself received priority one orders to take command of a new Imperial Class Assault Cruiser, the U.S.S. Valley Forge. She has state of the art armaments and equipment, and we were all excited to take her out for her shakedown voyage and put her to the test.

The orders included making best possible speed to the Defera System for diplomatic negotiations with the natives.

File footage of the launch follows.

Upon arrival at Defera, we immediately linked up with Ambassador Surah of the Deferi and escorted him in system. A strange vessel warped in, and mysteriously warped away after only a few seconds. We scanned the warp signature to no avail.

After beaming down with an away team, we met the Ambassador and began negotations and talks. They are an interesting people with much to offer the UFP. They have a long history in the area along with a rich and vibrant culture.

Talks were interrupted when our mysterious visitors reappeared, beaming right down in the middle of everything and opening fire with small arms. Tactical teams beamed down from the Valley Forge and the crew swept the city. Turns out our visitors are none other than the Breen. Not much is known about the Breen Confederacy, but it turns out they are threatening the Deferi homeworld.

Breen reinforcements warped in, but the 'Forge (as we're calling her now) took care of business before the Breen could send down any more raiding parties planetside.

After the engagement, Ambassador Surah explained their situation with the Breen and is requesting UFP assistance. This looks like a good chance to gain an ally, possibly even a member - and we need all the friends we can get these days.

Mission footage follows.

CAP After Action and Mission Report

The Valley Forge has remained on Station in the Deferi Sector in an effort to continue to provide aid to the Deferi. We received a report from their government that a pair of transports had been lost in the VZA-4001 system. The Forge moved in to investigate.

Upon arrival in system we rec'd a distress call from the Sabok, one of the missing transports. The Sabok gave us the location of both herself and their sister transport, the Paktau. They were under assault by Breen forces, and the Forge intercepted the hostiles and cleared the system.

The Sabok then directed us to the Zaria system, stating that Breen forces had attacked there as well. We made best speed to Zaria, and the Deferi outpost there. The outpost turned out to be a Dilithium Mine built on the core of a cracked planetoid. The Forge sent down an away team and secured the facility for the Deferi.

We then received orders from 7th Fleet HQ to hook up with other elements of the 7th and continue patrolling the sector for signs of Breen interference. Upon securing the sector, we were tasked with joining the rest of the Fleet for Operation Duke Nukem wargames against TF-88 Aggressors.

While we have been out taking the Forge through her shakedown voyage, the Shiloh has been back at drydock undergoing some modifications. The bridge has been reworked, new consoles added, and a coat of fresh paint to boot. We were recalled to SB-1 to resume command of the Shiloh and rendezvous with elements of the 7th to continue providing aid to the Deferi.

After meeting up with the Arbiter, the Wolf, and the Buchh, we headed back to the Deferi sector and were immediately hailed by the Deferi government. The Breen had returned and were actively seeking out Preserver technology, starting with the ruins outside the Deferi capital. The Task force sent down a joint away team to investigate, and after some time we puzzled out how the ruins worked. Upon activating them, we were shown what we believed was a piece of a star map of the area.

This led us to the S'hinga system, where we were able to ferret out another piece of the starmap. This new piece in turn led us to the Manek system, then to Raveh, where we were able to break through a Breen blockade, intercept their away teams, and unearth the final piece of the star map left by the preservers.

The eggheads back at SB-1 finally came back with their analysis of the star map we recently found and told us what we already knew - that if there is an intact Preserver library, it is likely located somewhere in the Lae'nas system. Fortunately, when the orders came through, we were already well on our way there.

The system was held by the Dominion during the War, and apparently they still have a presence there. Upon dropping out of warp we found ourselves in the middle of an engagement between Jem'Hadar and Breen forces. The crew performed admirably, and although the Shiloh is not quite the warbird as the Forge, she fits like a glove and still packs a helluva wallop.

We secured the system and beamed down security detachments planetside to deal with the Breen landing parties and search for the Preserver library. We had little difficulty finding it; it was a bit too easy.

When we gained access to it, the Breen commander, Thot Trel, was waiting for us. We lost several good men in the underground facility, but we were able to protect the site and put an end to Trel's menace in the sector.

The Preserver library itself is an incredible find. They are incredibly ancient and claim to have seeded the galaxy to create ... us. They call us their 'children' and welcomed us with open arms. We left a Deferi science team on site to begin making initial diplomatic overtures and research, though I feel that little diplomacy will be necessary in this case as long as the Federation makes a clear effort to put it's best foot forward.

We also managed to add two new members to the crew; Karma, a hulking Vulcan tactical officer with an outstanding service record and some excellent combat skills - she will be a valuable asset on away missions - and, believe it or not, our Breen turncoat was accepted into Starfleet and given a battlefield commission. His skills and unique perspectives will be invaluable.

Chu'vek was transferred back to the Academy as a 'drill instructor' - the cadets will learn a lot from him, especially in regards to Klingon tactics and culture. The Klingon Empire remains one of Starfleets biggest threats.

The 79th has been working hard lately, scavenging old battlefields, making new ones, then scavenging those; hunting down rumours or hints of rumours from traders and smugglers alike on one thing, and one thing only: Resupply.

You'd think there would be enough guns in the universe. But there isn't.

We've been out into the far reaches of the B'tran cluster. We've been out in the depths of Breen space. Hell, we even want back to that godforsaken Borg hellhole of a starbase out in Gamma. Twice.

We've been able to put some decent gear to use in the Task Force itself, and put about as much as we've used ourselves (if not more) for general Fleet use. It's slow going, it's hard work, but it's paying off.

File footage follows.

We've been off the Klingon front for a couple of weeks now, although the Task Force remains on standby for any signs of activity from the Mutara Nebula. The Fleet still has pickets out, but for now things are quiet. Our last major encounter with an organized Klingon fleet, the Black Legion Knights, did not go well. We were forced planetside, where we were able to eke out a ground victory, but when it comes to ship to ship combat we were outmatched.

Having been off the front for so long, we've maintained a focus on our eventual return. The Task Force has spent so much time on supply raids, exploration, and other general scavenging, I've decided our operations needs to have a name. I will call it Operation: Viking One; it's sort of catchy. It sounds like it almost means something. It sounds like... pillaging, though I doubt Starfleet would call what we're doing that, with the negative connotations the word carries. Not sure what the Breen or the Romulans might call it. But hey, it's not like the Federation isn't the only one not playing nice these days.

The Shiloh has spent the last thirty five days as a special attachment to Section 31. The spooks have had us investigating a Devidian incursion in the Eta Eridani Sector block.

Nasty fellows, those Devidians. They basically suck your soul out through your pores. Tough to get a handle on 'em, too; they are just out of phase variance with our universe.

We wrapped up the operation early this morning. Ultimately, we had to head back in time to the meet up with a comet whose orbit takes it near Drozana station every few hundred years. The comet itself puts out incredible amounts of triolic energy, which the Devidians were trying to leverage into what essentially amounted to stealing the entire Sector block into their phase variance.

With some fancy new toys from the spooks we were able to put a stop to that. But of course, that's all highly classified.

I hate it when Section 31 knocks on my ready room. They don't ever want you to do anything easy.

File footage follows. Do not distribute.
