Some of you will be eligible for this fairly soon. Hard to believe STO and the Fleet have been going strong for this long, but here it is:
The Good Conduct Medal is awarded to any active-duty member of the 7th Fleet who completes two consecutive years of "honorable and faithful service". Such service implies that enlistment was completed without any non-judicial punishments, disciplinary infractions, or court martial offenses. If a service member commits an offense, the two-year mark "resets" and a service member must perform an additional two years of service without having to be disciplined, before the Good Conduct may be authorized.
This Time-in-Service award would replace your current TIS awards on your namebar (the 14 day, 90 day, 180 day, 270 day, and 1 year awards only; these are all considered the same award family and only the highest current award need be displayed).
Devices can and will be added in the future to denote additional years of service.
