Sets Vs. Fleet Elite Items

Question for the old salty dogs out there:

 

I am presently running the Aegis set but I notice that even with 4 of the Elite Fleet Mk 12 Neutronium alloy consoles the bleedthrough in PVP is still enough to kill me. It leaves me wondering if a fleet elite resilient array would be a better bet with only 5% bleedthrough. The AEGIS engines are also a pain when at low power levels, leading me to think fleet elite combat engines might be a better bet as well.

Ultimately, my question is Fleet Elite Shields, Engines, and Deflector or the Set? Which will enhance survivability the most?

I can tell ya about the sets but not the fleet stuff.  I was happy with my sets enough to never of bought the fleet gear.  The sets have the advantage of set bonus.  If you want some more survivability from a set I suggest the MACO resilient shield with the Borg engine and deflector.  You get the nice tough shield with a x2 piece bonus from Borg for a hull heal proc that can trigger.  Another combo I like to use is Adapted MACO covariant shield and Adapted MACO engine with MACO deflector.  YYou get the high cap shield and the combat engine for lower power levels with a hot restart when disabled. The x2 piece Adapted MACO gives you a boost to Aux so u can run its level lower, bonus to torp damage, and crew bonus.  I know some run the fleet stuff and like it. But as stated I've never picked it up because I've been happy with the sets i have.  But you got to be complete with Omega rep for what I mentioned if you are not aware of that.
