Hello! I'm not sure if this is entirely the right place for this, but I just wanted to post a brief introduction as, I believe, the newest member of 7th Fleet. My name is Mike, I'm 29, married, and have been roleplaying in MMOs and forum/PbP RPGs for about fifteen years. I work in the alternatively awesome and mind numbing field of Archival Digitization. I have an M.A. in Military History, with interests across the board, but my specialization was in the wars of Julius Caesar. I was a professional actor in my college days, but have had to give that up to get a real job. I combine my two interests by doing reenactments as time and money permit.

IC'ly I portray Kurt Bain of the Prometheus-class USS Atlas. Ensign in 7th Fleet, although I hit Vice Admiral on live last night :) I still need to get added to the fleet in-game, as I just got the acceptance letter last night and am currently at work. On a somewhat related note as metioned in my original app, I tend to use voice comms in tactical situations - since typing gets you killed - but I prefer to do my RP and especially off-duty via old fashioned typing. It's helps me with immersion and - especially on Friday and Saturday nights - gives me an additional layer between the RP and the gin ;)

Anyway, I'm really excited to be part of the fleet and I'm looking forward to a long and mutually enjoyable stay.

Also...if you still need your in-game invite, the fastest way is to hop in our vent server and ask. You should have received the vent info in a PM after your app was approved.

It didn't seem important at first, but I suppose I should mention that I have a goatee...

Thanks to all of you for the welcome. This weekend is a busy one because of my wife's birthday, but I do have ventrilo set up and have successfully logged onto the server. I'll keep an eye for folks being on later so I can get that in-game invite
