Davis and I are leaving from St. Louis on June the 11th - driving up.  So, if you do go, and want a lift there and back from St. Louis, let us know.  Or, if you want a ride back on that Sunday.  The more the merrier!

Chicago Trek convention June 14, 2015 (Saturday night)

 

Hey all,

 

I wanted to share with you a brief update on our Star Trek convention Chicago experiance.  Multiple fleets present and great to meet up with so many folk who enjoy the game and their fleets!

 

Also so many kind folk who are living the dream, by which I mean Gene Roddenberry’s of course.

 

Both Klingon and Federation delegations were present as well as fleets offering both options to recruits.  During questions to the Stars and in hallway conversations Star Trek Online was a common topic of conversation and many folk discussed their need to belong in a friendly fleet. Our command staff did excellent work with managing the many questions about the 7^th and I hope some of those we spoke with choose to pursue a career with the 7^Th.

 

That aside, many new contacts were made and some great photos were had of fleet members on away team.

 

A merry time was had. <this is an understatement – we were in stitches laughing way too much – I blame the Vulcan drinks myself,  but that only explains the Saturday night concert with Tim>

 

Conversation has begun about 2016 trek con and which city to focus our fun!

 

A great time was had by all and many already thinking about next year. We’ll have to discuss further which con to hit for 50 YR celebration. 

 

I have been to more than 25 conventions and only 1 has matched this weekend’s fun, and I begin to suspect there is a new #1, Sunday awaits.

This was sent to me via an incoming emergency communique from Star Fleet Command. It appears that our Chief Engineer Fleet Captain JT Kerry had encountered the Borg and a melee ensues. Glad to hear everyone had a good time...

Mr. Kerry dealt harshly with the pesky Borg, who was far too slow for him, but unfortunately lost to him later in the costume contest.  I think that Mr. Kerry would have done better in the contest had there been some time for each contestant to describe the costume, and its meaning.  And in addition, the contest was clearly rigged by the Klingons.

I might add that it was extremely fortunate that Kerry's phaser went off a fraction of a second before the Borg's arm pincers closed.  Look where they are in the picture!
