I've been in this fleet for sometime now and love it, how ever I'm experiencing a hard moment in life and can't buy zen to get a fleet module (I only need one...) I don't have a lot of time that I can get in game to grind EC as well. So I ask my first favor, can someone help me get a new fleet vessel, Please give a guy a hand.

Thank you, Jeff (Captain Xaran)

If you're looking for a Fleet Module, I've got on up on the exchange right now.

We don't furnish beggars here, sorry. maybe if you contribute to the fleet, play with us, talk to us instead of begging every time you get on vent, then ,maybe you'd have that module already without paying any cash. we're actually pretty generous here if you've earned it. all you have to do is play the game, and then you'd have that module pretty easily.  STO is one of the few games out there these days where you can actually earn the stuff you would have to pay cash for to get the fancy stuff by just playing the game.  and since you don't seem to have time to earn the module, then why do you need the fleet ship for the game you can't or won't play to earn the ship to play?

In less than a month, I went from 35 Zen to about 2500 zen, just by playing the market - not paying a real life penny.  You only need like 500 zen for a fleet module.  Its easily done just by playing the market.  You can buy about 35 zen a day, just using the 8k dil you can refine daily.  If you use all that dil for zen, in 14 days, you can easily get enough for a module.  And that is with only 1 character, spending 5 minutes a day refining then dil and buying the zen with it.

A "Tour of the Galaxy" daily mission can get you between 500k and 1 mil EC every single day.  That, combined with normal missions and item recycling, you could easily get the 14 mil within a couple weeks of grinding.

In essence, I am not sure how you "cant seem to get that much" when it is actually fairly easy to do it.  And that is coming from someone who has only been playing the game for a few months total.

You got this.  Just do the work and it will be THAT MUCH more worth it when you actually do get your new ship.  I completely understand what you're going through.  I've been flying a mirror escort for a long time while earning zen for a new ship.  If you need help grinding missions or something, just ask!  I am sure there are plenty of people here willing to help YOU help YOURSELF out.

+1 and -1

viewpoint A: "ive been in the fleet for 3 years now, and although i dont play alot, i still do want to play and catch up. although i dont have much time to grind EC or DIL solo it becomes overwhelming when making so little everyday. I sometimes participate in fleet events and group up, but that takes a long time to get going and once again i see so very little when i do. my fleetmates have sooo much EC i bet they hit the billion dollar cap, so whats the big deal, its not like i ask for stuff every week. "

viewpoint B: "stop begging all the time, geeze. i grinded alot for what i have and you can too. shoot, you dont even ever come to fleet social stuff and i have never seen you ask for groups in game. i barely even know you. i havent seen you do a thing for the fleet or even post much on the forums. if you dont have time to grind, then dont play."

viewpoint C: "hey man, i know where you are coming from, i too have had the same experience, but I dove in and didnt ask for hand outs. and in a few months i could afford what i wanted. the fleet is always willing to help you do missions and stuff to get ec and dil. you just have to ask."

I can see where everyone is coming from in this. There is no correct answer to this. I dont see the harm in asking once. maybe someone is willing to donate ec or dil. how would you know unless you asked? if someone kept pestering me about it after i said no, then it would be a problem. and responding with suggestions on how to help is what a forum is for whether they are good suggestions or cookie-cutter ones.  just remember to keep an open mind and try to see it from the other persons viewpoint. we are all in this together.

I don't beg all the time... complain at the problem yes, I apologize if it came off sounding like begging. I would love to play with the fleet more, but theirs lots of times the events are in conflict with IRL things...

So I'm still relatively new on this also Rachet. I was feeling similarly to you for a while, but instead of asking for handouts, I asked Davis for for some advice on builds which made me able to solo more stuff without a lot of deaths(well not TOO many). I also got help from some of the guys on warzones and harder missions. Everybody on here puts in the time and effort to earn what they get. If you can't put in the time to earn what you need to get the module on your own merit, then I'm sorry sir but you obviously have not earned it.

Have patience and when you can put in the time to grind the EC then you will appreciate what you get that much more. From what I can see it is why this community of players keep coming back, they worked hard to earn their ships and gear, in the process gaining good comrades, so would you.

Best of luck.

In-game I'm pretty poor. I usually have about 400 dilithium and anywhere between 500k and 1.5mil EC at any given time. This is largely because I spend my resources as soon as I get it. I was having trouble getting the resources I needed so I did a few Google searches and came up with dozens upon dozen of extremely helpful hints on how to get dil/EC quickly. Here are a few that have helped:

1) Tour the Galaxy as had already been mentioned.

2) Starbase 24. You can create a private session (set skill level 2 below your own) and go blow stuff up. Sell the junk to vendor, sell good stuff on the exchange.

3) Contaband. If you don't have one, roll a Klingon or KDF aligned Romulan, and fly between Sol and the Klingon home world and do the marauder doff missions that upon success give you special rewards. You get more contraband than you'll know what to do with. You can trade these 5 at a time for 2000 dil to the security officers or sell them on the exchange

4) Alts. Max dil refine per day is 8500 (unless your a 1000 day vet). But dil can be transferred from alts. You can have up to four alts w/o paying for a dime of real word money and you need only get them to level 12 to open up doff in assignments. Once you have them to twelve, distribute contraband to non-kdf toons and turn them in for dil (every four hours) and you'll be rolling in dil.

None of these takes up much time. I run three alts and it only takes me 15-30 mins total to get 8500 dil on all three. There are obviously other, and possibly more efficient ways, but this is what I have done and it's helped tremendously.
