Captain's Log Stardate...... Computer, whats the stardate? (It is 03070.00, 0951 hours).  I've been neglecting these logs as I havent really had anything to say worth noting in official logs.  I have been Captain of the USS Riviera for a couple of months now and my crew has served with distinction and professionalism throughout the Iconian war and now the Terran Invasion.  As an escort ship, we are often sent to the front lines to carry out missions, such as defending DS9 against the mirror universe DS9.  Usually in that instance, our ship carries assault teams from our space station to theirs, to attack them directly.  We inadvertently take a great deal of fire in this process, but our ship is fast and our skill is true.

Aside from our combat duties, as a crew, we have been gathering resources to possibly add another ship to our team, most likely a pilot ship of some sort.  I hear that a new Valiant Class Pilot Escort is going to be released by Starfleet fairly soon.  The crew is excited to possibly acquire one of these ships.  With the new Ambassador program Starfleet recently implemented, I will be able to still retain my current crew on any ship under my command, and the other ships can be sent out for other missions to further the mission.

End Log.

Captains Personal Log:  Stardate...I can never figure out these stardates.... whatever.  Anyway, needless to say, I am a little peeved about the Valiant Class situation.  The original specs of the ship denoted it a "Tactical Escort Pilot" ship - meaning it was a pilot ship with a little more firepower than normal, but still retained its pilot-type abilities.  Upon the actual release of the ship, Starfleet decided they had not been totally honest with the actual type of the ship and removed the "Pilot" from the name, making the Valiant Class just a new mini-tactical escort ship - and a sub-par one at that.  Without the pilot maneuvers, it simply is no better than any other escort.  Speaking with other Captains in the Starfleet forums, I have found that many feel that we have been tricked.  Needless to say, the reduced resource price tag on the ship is not enough to makeup for its shortcomings and we will not be purchasing it.

Aside from all of that, we recently were in battle in the Terran Battlezone with our designated fleet.  We fought well and the zone was taken.  I look forward to more duties with this fleet.  They seem well organized and well armed.

Captains Log:  This will be my last log as Captain of the USS Riviera.  Due to recent events in the Fleet, the USS Riviera has been renamed to the USS TierThreeU in recognition of its prowess and stance in the fleet.  However, after many tough battles over the last few months, it is being handed into the Admiralty system and I am being given command of an Eclipse Intel Cruiser.  This ship should be more useful to the fleet in the long run.  I have already been in communication with other fleet members as to gain assistance in preparing my new ship for optimal damage capacity.  This will be improved upon as time progresses.

Captains Log:  USS Mad Dog

My new Eclipse Intel Cruiser has been named after one historical Mad Dog Mattis.  A Marine General who is known for this "Dont care" attitude and consistently laughing at his superiors when they brought up non-issues.

This ship is starting to come together.  With new, more rarely talented duty officers, the skills and passive abilities of the crew is starting to be mutually supportive.  I've facilitated training of a new Intelligence Specialist who has proven to be highly useful when utilizing the subsystem safety overrides to expand our combat capabilities.  Aside from the new crew compliment and abilities, there have been some shortcomings with the weapon systems.  As my former ship was an escort, cannons were used as the main weapons in the bow of the ship.  As these types of weapons have a small targeting area, I've had to switch to dual beam banks to accommodate for the lack of turn rate of a cruiser.  The issue is, the weapon types I've chosen are those of radiant antiproton - which can only be attained through Iconian Reputation Support projects.  Even then, the output weapon is randomized, so the only way to ensure I'll get what I want is to grind away through the randomness until I given the weapons I need to reach my goal.

End Log.
