new star trek show update

The new series has been confirmed during the era between tos and TNG...so think enterprise c. Wanted to get peoples thoughts on this. I'm pretty bummed we aren't moving forward in the series want to find out what happens post voyager etc (before sto)

Star Trek canon does have a huge hole between Star Trek VI and TNG. My thoughts would be anything during the Cardassian War. The rumors have been sang-froid about the franchise going back to its roots (critical social commentary), but who knows. I could just as well see CBS fall to the "whatever makes the most money" mantra and schlock it up, too. I will ultimately reserve judgment until the show comes out.

 I think voyager did it right heavy social commentary but a ton of starship porn and pew pew pew.

I just hope their not going backwards because they basically all have the props for that era just laying around. So it would probably be a little less expensive. But I do miss the values TNG brought to almost every episode.

They would be hard pressed to out do encounters at far point. Graphically obviously it'll be amazing but in terms of arcing meaningful stories...few shows have meaningful depth they carry 7 seasons but TNG did it. Hoping this new itteratioin will be a hit but I'm still worried about the era.

 Ive never ever taken the Cardies seriously except for that one episode involving the phoenix if they could actually bring them to life id be interested to see how it comes out story wise.

I was really hoping for about 40 years after "Enterprise" and the point leading up to and including the extended war with the Romulan Star Empire.   Oh well, understand there are re-boots of Babylon Five and Farscape in the wind.

 I actually liked the Wrath of Khan uniforms. They actually looked like military uniforms.

see im the opposite. I rather have the WOK uniforms over the  TOS bright yellows and reds....Im curious to see how they pull this off there at least has to be a Galaxy class under construction or at the very least a mention of the enterprise C. (side note i really really dont want this serise to be about a ship called enterprise.)

i think they will be WOK style, but with a JJ flavor..like shiny plastic or something...you know any new st series has to be like the new movies for a broader fanbase

 See that scares me their going to dumb down star trek for the "common person" (intellectual peasants) if you can't haveva solid thought provoking Convo after a startrek episode you're star trekking wrong.
