The Seventh Fleet, 112 ships strong, and commanded by Admiral Borren D’gret aboard the Excelsior-class cruiser North Star, was dispatched to the Tyra System to head off a Dominion advance in that sector, to buy time for the rest of the beleaguered Alliance Forces to regroup and mount a more effective counter attack. Starfleet Headquarters believed that the amount of ships was more than sufficient to blunt the assault made by the combined Cardassian and Dominion fleets. Unfortunately, they were wrong. 248 ships, under a Gul Pettar, smashed the fleet between the 6th and 7th planets. Only 14 ships escaped the carnage, including the USS Destiny, Lionheart, Lexington and Dauntless. These losses would continue to be felt through the long years of the Dominion War, and is one of the event the current members of the Lucky 7th have to live up to.
On the 22nd of June, the 7th Fleet will be re-enacting a small part of the battle, on of the Flanks of Admiral D’gret’s formation. To that end, the only ships allowed to participate are ships of the era, such as Defiant, Galaxy, Intrepid, Excelsior, Miranda, Nebula and Prometheus- class vessels for the Federation, and any Dominion and Cardassian ships of the era, like the Galor class. Federation combatants are not allowed to bring their Tier 5 or 6 versions of these ships.
The following restrictions will also be placed on the Federation forces, to represent their inability to combat superior Dominon tech: No ship is to have better than stock weapons, engines, shields, or deflectors. Dominion and Cardassian ships are allowed to have anything they want attached to their ships, barring cloaks and other ultra-rare console slots. No Federation ship is to have a cloak either, and no other ultra-rare consoles. As for bridge officers and captain traits and skills, no reinforcements and no using of any turrets.
If this seems a little harsh of the Federation players, remember this is a re-enactment, and we were absolutely hammered at Tyra. Don’t worry, somewhere down the line, we’ll have a battle where we can win, but this is a canon event, so we’ll play it by script.
That being said, there is a story behind our little battlegroup, and its actions on the day in question, which can be found below:
The right wing of the line was held be Vice Admiral George Murray, in command of the Prometheus-class escort, USS Amazon. Their job was to hold the oncoming swarm of Dominion Fighters near the outer most moon of Tyra 6, and, in the event of a rout, to harass the enemy while the rest of the fleet withdrew. Unfortunately for Admiral Murray, his Fleet Group, 7-3, better known as the ‘Valkyries’ because of the amount of ships name after female warriors of antiquity, was forced into its secondary role of rearguard. Caught out of position and surrounded during the bloody final hours, Admiral Murray gathered the remaining Valkyries into a spearhead formation, with his own battered Amazon at the point, Miranda class cruiser T’Pol on his right and Nebula class cruiser Jeane D’Arc on his left, he charged the lines of the enemy. In his final transmission, he quoted ‘The Charge of the Light Brigade’ on an open channel:
‘Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.’
Admiral Murray, however, was killed along with his entire crew when he gave the order to ram Gul Perrats’ flagship, killing the enemy commander and momentarily creating the hole which his beloved Valkyries could escape.
The T’Pol and a badly damaged Galaxy class cruiser, the Andromeda, managed escape the battle and return to Federation lines.
As you can probably guess, this is an RP event. I, Fleet Captain Preston, shall take command of the Federation side, as the late Admiral George Murray, while a member of the Flag Staff will take command of the Dominion forces.
Stay alert for more information regarding this event.

I will die gloriously with you, in the U.S.S. Bellerophon, NCC-74705. Intrepid Class. One thing that is not Common and/or greater level than Mk X is the console, that comes with this Captain/T4 level ship. Let me know if I should change it out for a Common console. I took the stock gear off of other ships in my inventory and shopped the Exchange to get them all up to Mk IX or X; screw going into this with Mk VI equipment, that is a little ridiculous! It's going to be a massacre as it is! The crew got all mutinous when we told them all weapons were to be dialed down to 1/4 power, but I think they can live with 1/2 power. Another exception is I couldn't get a third Mk X Common turret for the back, so I upgraded a lower Mk turret until the DPS was near Mk X but still slightly less. Re-engineered it to DMGx2 so that the quality adds only affect DPS, which is 170 something as opposed to Common Mk X at about 180, so it is close to being a Mk X Common [stock] turret but does not exceed that DPS or give any other effects. Didn't have any Tech Upgrades that don't give quality improvement chance, so upgrading a Common Mk II to Mk X and keeping it at Common wasn't an option.

Kor, all I ask is that you use a period skin, like the Intrepid skin, for your ship. Otherwise, looks great. Everyone, please follow the Vice Admirals example. Also, I'm going to be in character, so be prepared for a bad Scottish accent barking orders.

So what I have on it now in that pic is not the Intrepid skin? I think I had Intrepid selected in the ship tailor editor, but I can go back and check it.

Dang it I think I'm on call that weekend, here is hoping that I don't get called away. Now to figure out which ship I want to get my backside shot off in.
Are we limiting the starship traits and captain traits, too? Or just the ship tech?
Edit: I know you said no reinforcements, i mean the Starship traits and high tech captains traits (from boxes, etc) and rep traits... especially passives you can't detect without digging into a player's stats.
Also, the Prometheus is a T5 ship. Still allowed? Cause it's my favorite? And is the MVAM console allowed? It was only a prototype at the time of the dominion war, so I should think not. If no Prometheus, I can bring a different T4... but pickins are slim in that tier.

All good questions. As for the first, I'll have a chat with Kor and Sapel as soon as I can, get their takes on it. As for the second, yes you can use the Prometheus class. But no MVAM, as it was a prototype, as you said. It's gonna be more Prometheus's than you generally would find in a fleet group at that time, with both you and I using one at least, but the 7th fleet was always special
