re: Temerix and the RRW TRIDONIUS

[Temerix is pictured here in the standard Romulan uniform that I use for all Romulans, whether Captains or Bridge Officers, and whether of Fed or KDF allegiance.]

Temerix is the son of a dilithium miner.  He was raised on the dark side of Remus, like many other Remans.  In 2386, when Crateris was granted to the Remans by Donatra, Temerix was one of the initial colonists who began the first settlement there.  He left his young family, a wife and two children, behind on Remus.  He went on ahead to help carve out the new colony at Crateris.  Only a few weeks before his family was due to leave Remus for Crateris to join him, the Hobus supernova destroyed the Romulus system, and his family were among the billions lost.

Temerix had heard whispers that the Hobus disaster was not just a random event, but something caused by a rumored Tal Shiar secret project.  It would take years for proof of this to emerge, and Temerix was one of many Romulans and Remans that always suspected this, but could not prove it.  He vowed to uncover the truth, and then if his suspicions were borne out, then may the Creators have mercy on the Tal Shiar, for Temerix and some of his more vengeful friends would give them none.

In 2409, when the Tal Shiar destroyed Crateris, Temerix was one of the few that escaped the atrocity with Obisek.  Temerix distinguished himself leading a forlorn hope unit to delay the Tal Shiar forces invading the base at Dera IV, and his group was the last one to beam out to the last transport leaving the system.  This transport was delayed leaving the system, and was separated from the rest of the departing flotilla.

Because of this, the freighter was intercepted on the way to the next rendezvous by a Romulan frigate, most likely part of a screening force deployed by Hakeev to snap up stray ships such as theirs.  The frigate had the freighter stopped, and ordered the crew to surrender and prepare for boarding.  Temerix and his hardened cadre of fighters were having none of this, however.  First, Temerix bluffed the frigate captain into believing that the freighter's transporter and some other systems were down by temporarily disabling them.  Temerix divided his fighters into two squads.  One smaller group, combined with the freighter crew, would fight a delaying action on the freighter, as the Romulans beamed over.  The other larger and more heavily armed party would beam over and try to take the frigate.  Temerix timed the beamout as closely as possible to the moment when the Romulan force beamed over to seize the freighter, and they were able to successfully beam into the bridge, aux control, and engineering sections of the hapless frigate and subdue it rather quickly.  The majority of the frigate's crew had beamed over to the freighter, mistakenly thinking that it was not possible for the Remans to beam over to their own ship.  They got tied down in a protracted fight with the resistance squad and the freighter crew.  Up till now, the group on the freighter had traded space for time, and fought a good delaying action down the few corridors to the engine room, so the Romulans still had not been able to completely take over the vessel yet.  However, their own ship was lost so quickly that they were not yet aware of it.  For Temerix and his force, there was no hope of victory in a direct boarding party fight with the more numerous Romulans, but since he now controlled the frigate, he simply beamed over all the crew and fighters that could be grabbed off of the freighter, and then blew it up before the confused Romulans could react.

Temerix now controlled a Romulan frigate and had a hardy crew of resistance fighters and freighter crewmen.  The weak and sick had long perished.  They would proceed to the rendezvous.

Obisek was impressed with this, and appointed Temerix Captain of the the I.R.W. Deresus.  Soon Obisek and the Resistance were aligned with the burgeoning Romulan Republic, and Temerix's ship was renamed the R.R.W. Deresus.

So that is how Temerix, a lowly dilithium miner, and a hapless pawn of the Romulan Star Empire, became a starship captain.  Many more adventures and several more starships followed, and eventually Temerix and his current ship were assigned as part of a liaison detachment to the KDF forces.  Temerix is currently serving in the 7th Imperial Tactical Squadron, a rowdy group even by Klingon standards, that has seen much action in the many recent conflicts.

RRW TRIDONIUS in orbit about Qo'nos.
