re: Stardate Formatting
Proper use of STARDATES within the 7th Fleet
It has been so ordered by this Concord.
A Stardate in a post will begin with the year 2408 (1 year before STO Launch)
followed by a decimal point "." then, a 4 digit number corresponding to the current Gregorian Calender month and year of the post. So todays date would be written as 2409.0709 - This is our Universal 7th Fleet Stardate
Then, creative license begins with "space" "S" for Supplemental "space"
any four numbers "." any one digit
These additional Stardates are a mathematical formula which varies depending on location in the galaxy, velocity of travel, and other factors, can vary widely from episode to episode.
So, The proper Universal Stardate plus Supplemetal for July 09, 2009
2408.0709 S 1234.1 or more correctly 2408.0709 S ####.#
"Stardate"was invented to avoid continually mentioning Star Trek's century, and getting into arguments about whether this or that would have developed by then. Pick any combination of four numbers plus a percentage point, use it as your story's stardate.

- CPT Kelley
