Well lets see, the poll for the Official Uniform change has been up for 5 days and only 1/3 of the fleet has voted. Not very impressive. Way to speak your minds team.

I have posted many many interesting and funny forum threads, almost zero replies. I am begining to think this fleet is overstocked by about two thirds. Maybe I should put up a poll and ask?

The Triple Nickle and the 7MD seem to be kicking ass and having fun.

Well, first of all, your roleplay and news story posts are definitely appreciated. Don't think that a lack of replies on that end where some threads are concerned means no one is paying attention. Not all of them lend themselves to a response; that doesn't mean I don't get a kick out of them - and I'm sure others do as well.

As far general apathy - if leadership wants to clean house, I think you have the support of the active fleet. There are almost certainly a chunk of members who aren't logging into the game or the website; no reason to keep them unless they have made prior arrangements with you guys.

It's hard to have 100% member interest in the fleet website. I have found that some players just aren't interested - no matter what you do. You can have the best guild website in the world, and half your guild won't go to it. Of course, that is usually the half of the guild that is unprepared and uninformed when it comes to raids or things of that nature; but sometimes all you can do is lead the horse to water, so to speak. It sucks, especially when there is clearly a large amount of effort being put in to the site by various players, but try not to take it personally. Some players just don't do forums. I think for some it may be a time issue; they would rather spend their limited free time in game. I think for others it may be an issue with familiarity - I am used to using different types of forums, always have, but for a user who doesn't get around much, forums can actually be intimidating, I think.

So what's up with this fleet? It's got a fantastic leadership team, a great website, and a solid core group of players. Honestly, you can't ask for much more than that. If 1/3 of the fleet is the group that takes active interest in the direction and policies of the fleet, then the other 2/3 are just along for the ride and don't get to bitch when things get changed. And you're always gonna have that - a percentage of the overall fleet is just going to end up being 'along for the ride.' Almost anything I can think of recommending to engage a larger percentage of the fleet in a higher level of activity, you guys are already doing.

A thing that has helped in past polls is setting a time limit. If people have a time limit, the ones that really care will post their opinion on time. The ones who don't don't matter, and then have no room to bitch and moan because, hey, they HAD the chance to voice an opinion.

As for TF's having fun, I think I'm the only one that I've seen out of my TF in-game so far. Granted, my buddy and partner in crime, JDubois, is a little strapped on cash and can't log into the game just yet, but he still checks out the forums at least. AND RPs with me, which is kind of important since we're working on a story together...

Anyway...as for your random posts on the news...I don't know how to take half of them. A lot of them I do laugh at; the one you did about the guy pointing his gun at Tasson at the exchange was PRICELESS. But for some of the others, like the random pictures of Ben? I didn't understand the point. So, I didn't comment. No need to. Doesn't mean people aren't looking; they just have nothing to say. I'd rather leave well enough alone and not open my mouth, than be expected to comment on every single little thing that gets posted, when most of it doesn't concern me or my enjoyment of the group.

I'm in this group to have fun. Period dot. I'm in this group because of the very large and proud military background of most of the members. I'm in the Air Force myself. I like to come here after I've had a long day in the air and just relax and not have to worry about WORK. I have more important things to worry about than the newest starship RAINBOW WARRIOR or whatever it was.

BTW, I did not think it was appropriate for 7th MD members to vote on the 7th Fleet uniform, since ours is different. I will however take a look and give comment, probably positive anyway.

As for more pressing business......The new Task Force missions are out, and I hear ther REQUIRE team work and the ground assualt is supposedly INSANE!!!!

I am a ground-pounding killing machine; the smell of plasma and scortched carnage....in the morning....smells like......VICTORY!!!

I post them mostly for my own enjoyment of the game.

But polls concerning fleet decisions I think should get higher marks than 1/3 participation.

I am here every day and read all the posts every since I joined in the beginning of February. I did answer the poll the day it was published, so I guess I am part of the few... oh wait.. I am a Marine so I guess I am part of the few.. the proud... the 7thMD.

Anyway, not everything to me warrants a post. I suppose it works like that for a lot of folks as well. I am here to have fun. 4 years now I have been a GM (and still am) of a pretty successful raiding guild in WoW. I want to play a game that I enjoy (STO) and leave the hard core leadership to someone else for once.

The Fleet and its Executive Leadership seem to be doing a good job at it and I will stand behind what-ever my Commanders deem appropriate. That being said, I will, as usual be online every night and complete a few missions, pending real life.

I have responded to both polls. However, it is difficult for me and time consuming.

I usually can only get 1/3 of my personalities to agree to any one thing at a given time. I don't know if it's cosmic significance that it matches with the 1/3 that reply at all.

And I agree completely. Like I suggested, put a time crunch on people. I would have had the poll up for 2 weeks, maybe 2 and a half max, and then close it and say "too bad, too sad."

As far as TF 78 we have posted our votes on the polls and I try to keep up with that kind of thing. As far as the jokes go I love them. Why there not always PC and I hate PC. Admiral you may kick me to the curb for this but... every time I see you I feel like your going to walk right upto me and say "SNAP INTO a SLIM JIM" Space station rips open halpless redshirts go flying out that kind of thing. Which cracks me up.

Regarding Time Limits on Polls , 10-4, but these things just kind of happen, we don't form a committee and say lets have a poll. I just poorly assumed that if a member didn't respond in "7" days, they did not intend to. (cuz, 7 is our thing).

In future polls, creator please post a time limit.
