And for those who have not had the pleasure of meeting an Orion Bridge Officer and all of her qualifications.

Sir,

While this picture is in fact very cool adn the post funny I do not feel that posting it as front page news on the website is appropriate. The front page is our representation of the Fleet to the rest of the STO universe and this picture in no way, in my opinion, reflects well on the professional attitude we are so proud of within this fleet.

While this is funny to be sure it is not news in any way shape or form and I feel completely inappropriate material to be posted as such.

While it might not be "News worthy" it is inspirational and in good fun. The "Face" of the fleet can also include a light-hearted presentation of the realities of Star Trek Online.

So it could actually be accepted as a Political Cartoon or satire. But, in just a few short hours or perhaps days, this post will naturally flow off of the front page anyway.

Last point, Military professionalism coexists with dark or satirical humor, at least it always did when I served.

I disagree. I did not find out that I would be able to get a Bridge Officer from the opposing side until I made Ambassador. Now everyone knows. It could probably be added that you also have a choice of a male orion, male gorn or a male nausicaan.

As for the picture. Was that not how they were depicted in the Orignal Series. There is nothing wrong with it. It disheartens me to see that Mr. Keogh took his down because someone found them offensive.

Make no mistake. There is a definite problem with too much political correctness.

I have to agree, Mr.Keogh you did not have to take the picture down. We are a positive fleet, where ideas, thought and opinions of EVERYONE should be heard yet it be right or wrong this is why we are the best fleet in the STO community! Stay Positive my Friends

Thank you for your support T' Pau, Adm. Lang, and MG Talbot.

Staying positive and having a fun atmosphere is what I intended by this thread.

It was not my intention to be offensive, and quite honestly, I don't see how any offense could be taken. I posted an in-game character, wearing in-game clothing and pairing it up with my spoof on the Star Trek opening speech.

But, if offense was taken I apologize. Sometimes I forget that not all of us look at this fleet, or this game, the same way that I do.
