Going to lay claim to the Rigel NCC - 91824.
Commanded by a Rigelian, of course.

For the record, registry numbers have nothing to do with a significant date; it's the order they are commissioned in.

Per Memory-alpha.org, the Canon NCC number for the Potemkin was 1657. I currently have that staffed with a Deltan Medical Officer by the name of Nyya Eshel-Meir. Please let me know if the NCC number on the ship should be 1657 or 1711.

Well, you've gone and raised an interesting question.
The original twelve Constitutions, from MA:
■USS Constellation (NCC-1017)
■USS Intrepid (NCC-1631)
■USS Potemkin (NCC-1657)
■USS Excalibur (NCC-1664)
■USS Exeter (NCC-1672)
■NCC-1700
■USS Enterprise (NCC-1701)
■USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-A)
■USS Hood (NCC-1703)
■NCC-1707
■USS Lexington (NCC-1709)
■USS Defiant (NCC-1764)
Star Fleet Technical Manual: According to Franz Joseph Schnaubelt's 1975 Star Fleet Technical Manual, the ships of the Constitution class are as follows. Season one of the remastered original episodes added USS Defiant; corrections to the others' registries occurred later.
NCC-1017 Constellation
NCC-1371 Republic
NCC-1631 Intrepid
NCC-1664 Excalibur
NCC-1672 Exeter
NCC-1700 Constitution
NCC-1701 Enterprise
NCC-1702 Farragut
NCC-1704 Yorktown
NCC-1707 Hood
NCC-1709 Lexington
NCC-1711 Potemkin
NCC-1764 Defiant
While this book is now considered to be non-canonical, it was used as a source and reference for four Star Trek motion pictures, and at least one episode.
Then, there's this:
The fictional Constitution-class ship list used internally at Paramount has been derived from the list of fan Greg Jein, first published in 1975; it derives ship registries by matching codes from a wall display in Court Martial with known ship names in reverse alphabetical order. Jein's list forms the basis for the list appearing in the Star Trek Encyclopedia.
http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/The_Case_of_Jonathan_Doe_Starship
NCC number Starship name
??? Yorktown
??? Potemkin
1709 Lexington
1631 Intrepid
1703 Hood
1672 Exeter
1664 Excalibur
1697 Essex
1701 Enterprise
1718 Endeavor
1685 Eagle
1700 Constitution
I think, though, that for now, we should use the registry numbers and names from the Technical manual. Canon or not; it's the one we've already started using, it's very extensive so we have lots of choices, and in several cases the technical manual was assumed to be canon, and so it became that way anyway (for example, the class of the Enterprise was not ever called 'Constitution class' in the series, only in the movies, after it had been named that by the tech manual.)

Another thought, possibly for another forum, are bridge officers. Some bridge officers that you receive would not be around during TOS timeline (i.e. trill, betazoid, klingon).

I selected U.S.S. Wasp. Not sure if I got the money to get the TOS bundle, so probably have to rock the tWoK/fleet uniform. Just happened to have Original ship from preorder.
