Medical School Induction

I just wanted to share a pic with my fellow fleet mates from my medical school induction (known as a White Coat Ceremony), where we were given our first white coats to wear when seeing patients.





At the medical school that I attend there is a tradition of the incoming class writing their own oath, which I have included at the bottom of this post. This is something that I am quite proud of, as many of the words that I wrote actually made it into the final draft

Anyways... I just wanted to celebrate a bit with my buds in the 7th


I solemnly pledge myself to the service of
humanity through the practice of medicine.
I will place the health and well-being of the
patient as my highest priority.
I will treat my patients with compassion, dignity,
and integrity, ensuring that no prejudice will affect
my ability to provide care.
I will dedicate my efforts to inform patients
and improve their quality of life to the best of
my abilities.
I will acknowledge my limitations in practice
and regard them with humility.
I will serve the community, embracing its
diversity and cultural values, always maintaining
respect for human life.
I will continue a lifelong dedication to learning
and impart my knowledge to future generations.
I will value and respect the opinions and expertise
of all colleagues.
I will meet the responsibilities of my profession
while maintaining a balanced life through consideration
for the needs and well-being of my loved ones.
I will hold myself accountable and act in a manner
reflective of my values and the expectations of my
profession.
I pledge myself freely, upon my honor, to uphold
this oath.

Congrats to you all! High praise and honor be bestode on you and your family for taking on the oath you have written. I have had many individuals in my family take on the coat of medicine. The families of Doctors take on their oaths in the form of allowing them the time and space to practice.
