I'd recommend trying to get your KDF character to a minimum of LC1, since that (obviously) breaks open the 2nd tier of ships.

Don't forget, all but the Breen series of featured series are accessible to you at Lt6...which is what you wind up being once you complete the initial KDF "missions." You should have plenty between those and some of the Star Cluster missions and Pi Canis sector patrols.

You'll need to make 5 levels for a new KDF character to be able to participate in the lowest Fleet Action (LC1). Might not want to wait til "Kick a Tribble Night" to create your character.

As of right now, I plan on bringing Kejjik in his Vo'Quv. It's a great support vessel, which will come in handy for the lower level folks.
