I've been posting on and off about this on facebook all day - and all I can say is, it's about time someone besides Lucas makes creative decisions. IMHO this is probably one of the best things that could've happened to Star Wars.

I just really hope they make the new movies to go along with the books that take place after Episode VI. The X-Wing series is not to far after and would make great movies, but of course I'm sure they will go with a more Jedi heavy story for movies.

That "disturbance" has been there for quite some time. Disney started introducing the alliance with Lucas when Disney World launched Star Wars rides at least 6 years ago. And, I figured they had bought a good chunk of the franchise back then.
