Others are born to citizenship, but veterans earned it. Have a good Veteran's Day to those, like myself, who have served and are serving in a Military, and not just in the US. Look at the survivors of WWII, who with the passage of time have found peace within and common ground with those from the other side of the field, to make all veterans brothers in arms.
Thank you for your service...
JT
For futher understanding of my views on citizenship and voting, read - not watch - Starship Troopers, 1959, Robert A. Heinlein. Voting is a priviledge we Americans take for granted because we ascribe it as a right. One that wasn't fully granted to the people until relatively recent times.
* Birth - "All persons born or naturalized" "are citizens" of the U.S. and the U.S. State where they reside (14th Amendment, 1868)
* "Race, color, or previous condition of servitude" - (15th Amendment, 1870)
* "On account of sex" - (19th Amendment, 1920)
* In Washington, D.C., presidential elections after 164 year suspension by U.S. Congress (23rd Amendment, 1961)
* (For federal elections) "By reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax" - (24th Amendment, 1964) (For state elections) Taxes - (Harper v. Virginia Board of Elections, 383 U.S. 663 (1966))
* "Who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of age" (26th Amendment, 1971).
* In addition, the 17th Amendment provided for the direct election of United States Senators.

Indeed. A Bravo-Zulu to all that have served our Nation. A special shout-out to my Dad for his service in Korea during the "police action."

I don't completely get how this saying relates -
"How many threads do not show the face of deception
will continued to weave light truth."
The universal translators sucks at this. The best choice of language is Croatian, to get everything translated into something, and it is literal and disjointed.
I think it would flow better as:
"How many threads, that do not show the face of deception,
will continued to weave the light of truth."
OK - someone else can "riddle me this Batman"...

During times of Universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act. - George Orwell
To save your world you asked this man to die.
Would this man, could he see you now, ask why?

Correct translation:
No matter how many threads deception would weave
truth will always illimunate the outline of the light
But the reading was pretty much bang on the head :p

o all my fellow Veterans...I think this has always summed up my feelings about serving your country...no matter what country it may be:
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition.
And gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's Day.
