Second Annual Bat'Leth Tournament: December 14 & 15 2030

It is a great honor to be able to announce that the 7th Imperial Tactical Squadron will finally be having our rescheduled Second Annual Bat'leth Tournament this weekend, December 14th and 15th. Gather to meet your fate on the 7th ITS starbase at 2030hrs EST each night.

Here are the rules of engagement for this Melee-only Bat’leth Tournament. The last warriors standing from Round One will meet the next night in Round Two and proceed until only one remains. Warriors must participate in both rounds to be eligible for a prize. A warrior can only participate in Round Two if he participated in and survived Round One. [All this means is that if you can only do one night, make it Friday.] This is open to all Warriors of the Empire! ***See possible exception below***

Tournament Rules:

• Bat'leth (Common, Mark I type only! These will be provided by the Judge)
• No Powers or Buffs except from the Bloodwine Fountain, which all contestants must toast from before the Tournament begins
• No Kits
• No Armor
• No Heals
• No RESPAWNS! Contestants may only be revived by CPR provided by the Judge

So sharpen your steel and your teeth. Many will enter the arena, but only one will leave victorious! Do you have what it takes to be the last warrior standing?

In addition to the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, competitors will have a chance to win fantastic prizes. The first, second and third place warriors shall receive... ZEN!!!

**UPDATE Stardate 2412.12.15 Bat'Leth Tournament Victory Results**

Due to the ardent and relentless nature of our KDF Officer Corps contestants, and extremely high casualty rates, the 2nd Annual Bat'Leth Tournament was decided in one nightly event instead of the projected two sessions. Here are the results:

The First Place Winner, and new KDF Bat'Leth Champion is Kurak! Congratulations to his most glorious victory over some of the toughest opponents that the galaxy had to offer. No one was able to truly contest this great warrior's handling of the Bat'Leth.

In Second Place, defeated only by the Champion Kurak, was Talissss!

And in Third Place, dominating the Junior Officer Corps League, was D'Vahn!

Kurak and D'Vahn shall be awarded fantastic prizes. Talissss is not eligible for a prize due to his dual role as Judge of the contest, so his reward is glory.

Other officers that distinguished themselves in the competition were Crom, Jik'Tar, Former Bat'Leth Champion Kokar, Talrania, Nnerthus, Thu'Fir, and Torn. All of the matches were well fought, some to the point of a draw multiple times, in which our best 2 of 3 rule had to be extended to best 2 of 4! Well done!

Any late contestants who were not able to make the competition before it ended should refocus their efforts on completion of the 7th ITS Star Base. It is less than 1000 Fleet Marks from completion of Tier II!

Fear not, you who missed out on this great contest shall soon have the opportunity to sacrifice yourselves for eternal glory in the new upcoming Bat'Leth Tournaments. Rumor has it that KDF High Command has extended the challenge to our ultimate opponent, the Federation. If our craven enemies take up the gauntlet, we shall soon be able to tear apart their most famous warriors in quarterly melee tournaments. Their best against our best. Details to be released soon.
