Hmm, you're right; wonder why I haven't gotten my key yet?

Just download it and log in. I didn't get a key or anything, just an email saying I could play. Use your PWE login.

Yeah, had to go to the *last* page of that uber-thread to find that out.

It reminds me of STO when it comes to game controls (F to interact) and things like the z-store and quest journal are setup similar to STO - there's events happening that gives bonuses to certain things, there's a foundry, etc.
Playwise it looks nothing like STO though; which is actually saying something. When STO launched it felt like someone just took Champion Online characters and let you put Star Trek uniforms on them. This doesn't feel that, I think the extra year or so that PWE allowed them has paid off a lot. It actually looks more like DDO imho; it plays a bit like that game as well.
It's pretty fun so far. Granted I've only played to level 5, but I enjoyed it. It is going to be free 2 play from the get go. The client is completely free; and there is no sub. It differs from STO in the fact that there isn't even an option to sub. So, my only concern at this point would be that they offer something akin to the dilithium exchange in STO, thereby making it possible to earn things by playing rather than purchasing things.
In any case, if you have the LTS here, and like to try different MMO's, it's worth the download (which actually didn't take very long).

Overall I agree with Shack; I would say, however, that NW knocks the socks off of DDO, in my opinion. Not to say DDO isn't a decent game; I agree with Shack's assessment that the folks working on NW seem to have learned from what they did and didn't do right on STO.
